A note from Patricia: After much prayer, thought and conversation, Kyle and I have made the decision to list The Paper Chase for sale. We have learned so much as business owners and through this small business have gained so much, but it has also been during a time of extreme transition for us. During the time since we purchased The Paper Chase: I took a new job working full-time that has allowed me to advance my career and do something I truly love; we welcomed Palmer to our family; we tragically lost my brother and weathered the storms of grief and stress that came with it. As I have taken the time to figure out what it is that is important to me, I have had to determine how I want to spend my time. Unfortunately, with all of the things I have chosen to do, The Paper Chase has taken a back seat to many others including my family and career. I truly love what The Paper Chase is and what it stands for - a place to shop, to catch up with each other, and to help be a small part of people’s major milestones in life: weddings, baby showers, birthdays, and many more. I am prayerful and hopeful that the right person will come along that can bring the core of what The Paper Chase is back to life even more than it is now. We hope that this staple of downtown Decatur will remain, and that we can excitedly hand over the keys to the next owner to continue the legacy that was built long before us.
