I’m heartbroken to confirm the passing of voice actor and director, Mike McFarland.

To millions of fans around the world, Mike was known as the voice of the legendary Master Roshi in Dragon Ball Z and the Dragon Ball franchise. Behind the microphone, his unmistakable talent brought characters to life for generations of fans. His contributions to the industry extended far beyond voice acting, including his acclaimed work as a director on Chainsaw Man and countless other productions.

But to me, Mike was much more than the credits attached to his name.

Mike was a longtime client of Galactic Productions, and over the years, he became so much more than a client. He became a dear friend—someone I was always genuinely happy to see, work with, laugh with, and spend time with.

Those of us fortunate enough to know the man behind the microphone knew there was so much more to Mike than his remarkable body of work. He was funny, kind, talented, and someone whose presence made the conventions and experiences we shared that much more memorable.

Fifty-six is simply far too young.

I’m grateful for all the years, conventions, conversations, laughs, and memories we shared. Galactic Productions has lost a longtime member of our family, the voice acting community has lost an extraordinary talent, and I have lost a friend.

My heart goes out to Mike’s family, friends, colleagues, and the countless fans whose lives he touched through his work.

Rest easy, Mike. Thank you for the characters, the memories, the laughter, and most of all, your friendship.

You will be deeply missed.
