Stick with me, this might be a long one.

Today I needed a moment of reflection and of gratitude. This past weekend was one of the best of my photography career. It was a reminder of why I fell in love with wedding photography and a reminder of how far I've come in my career.

It started on Thursday when I had the opportunity to photograph Rachael + Jason's courthouse wedding. They found me online (grateful for my SEO) and inquired if I would be willing to do their "split" wedding. They had a small courthouse wedding with photos afterwards and a reception 3 days later. It was such a sweet wedding with their closest family present and we took beautiful wedding photos afterwards at Ogden Gardens. I loved getting to know them and photographed this butterfly photo during their session. 🦋

On Friday, I photographed Victoria + Paden's wedding at Aberdeen Manor. I actually photographed Victoria's Senior photos many years ago and always thought she was one of the sweetest, most beautiful girls I've ever photographed. (Paden is equally as kind and good looking so it was amazing!)
The weather was perfect, the vendor team was incredible, the venue was beautiful - definitely a 10/10 wedding! ❤️

Saturday I photographed Elizabeth + Patrick's wedding. This wedding brought me full circle. Their home is 6 blocks from my old home in Chicago and both the venue and the church are both in my old neighborhood. While I was at the house, her parents showed me their wedding album from Fred Fox Studios, which is the studio I got my photography start at. This wedding was all about tradition, love, culture and honoring exactly where you came from. The sweetest couple and I loved being a part of it. (Also a 10/10 wedding!) 🍀

Sunday I went back to photograph Rachael + Jason's reception and got to meet the rest of their family and friends. They treated me like I was family and never like I was hired. I loved hanging out with them and hope to become besties with them in the future. (Rachael is also a triplet so this was officially my 1st set of triplets in my photography career.) 🩷

This weekend, I also photographed Mallory + Nick's Engagement session and had the best time! They are an AMAZING couple and I can't wait to photograph their wedding next July. 🩵

I can't help but be grateful. This dream I had of becoming a wedding photographer, it's here and I'm doing it! So many people told me I couldn't or made me feel like I wasn't good enough. To this day, I've photographed 1068 weddings and I can't even express in words how thankful I am for each and every one of them. THANK YOU for following my journey, allowing me to capture all of your memories and to be a part of your families.
