So sorry to hear of this tragedy!

Please join us in expressing condolences as Sergeant Grant Candies of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office died in the line of duty. Louisiana Sergeant Candies was murdered when he was intentionally struck while deploying a spike strip by four juveniles fleeing a traffic stop in Slidell until crashing into a New Orleans police unit. The driver faces charges including first-degree murder, while an injured officer received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Sergeant Candies had served with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's office for nine years, receiving the Deputy of the Year Award and two Lifesaving Awards. He previously served with the United States Marine Corps. He is survived by his wife and two children and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and department.
