This install was one of those true full-circle moments.
Fifteen years ago, this was the first bar I ever bartended at—a place and a scene that completely engulfed my life. I struggled deeply during that chapter, enough to eventually make the decision to get sober eight years ago.
Then came my first baby, who unexpectedly led me to balloons.
When I first started my balloon journey, one of the first artists I followed was Finn from . I had never seen balloon work like his before. I constantly tried to recreate his style without fully understanding the technique, skill, or experience behind it.
Fast-forward to now, and this is the second installation I’ve had the opportunity to create alongside him—learning and applying the very technique that inspired me in the beginning.
To return to this bar sober, thriving, and at the peak of my life—when working here represented one of the lowest points in it—is something I don’t have words for.
This install is more than balloons to me. It represents growth, healing, resilience, and proof that your entire life can change when you decide to put everything you have into becoming the person you know you’re capable of being.
Something shifted in me while creating this.
