Our December Rider Spotlight is focused on David Olcott!
-How old were you when you first started riding, how long have you been riding for?
I guess I was in grade school. My first bike was a Yamaha DT 100. I basically grew up riding in corn fields with my friend. The first time I ever rode a track I was in my late 20s after taking more than a decade off the bike. I raced for the first time at 29 and fell in love with it. So much so that I started running races, ride days and other moto events. I’ve done that now for almost 30 years
-How did you initially hear about 508?
I was fortunate enough to have been included in the very beginning planning stages of 508 INTL with Brent and Russ. I am so stoked for how far it has developed!
-What’s your favorite thing about 508?
I love the way the track just flows. I feel very comfortable riding there. I also love the layout and how there is infinite parking. And I must recognize the hard work of the entire crew for always screening the dirt so it packs in really nicely. You can always find traction somewhere at 508!
-What is your most memorable riding/racing experience?
When my late wife earned 2nd place in the VT state championship, up at Derby after racing all season. She killed it and I was so proud of her! I loved that we got to ride and race together for so many years. Our girls have their mother’s grit and determination, while always maintaining a smile...
-Is there anything else you would like to share with the 508 family/ MX community?
I just want to recognize all the hard work of the staff and crew at 508. Everytime we go there it just keeps getting better. I know that the team there really busts their butts to make it a fun place for everyone of us to ride and enjoy. Thank you all for what you do!
