There is a lot of heart in what we do.
I read an article a while back about the most stressful jobs, and event planner ranks right up there with police, fire. Being the wife of a firefighter, I know a thing or two about that kind of stress too.
We are no heroes or public servants - but what we offer as wedding planners is less about the service and more about the feeling. How do you quantify joy? How do you measure a peaceful heart on one of the most important days of your life as a couple?
It is hard, sometimes, to explain and justify our value. I’m not delivering a gallery of beautiful photos. I’m not preparing your hors d’oeuvres in the kitchen. But I am lifting a burden - one that is heavier than most people realize, until you don’t have the help.
We invest a lot of ourselves in this industry - we sacrifice a lot of sleep, drink way too much coffee, and miss weekend family activities. We don’t do it just for fun, we do it because we care. Deeply.
So, before you ask on your neighborhood page about a planner who “doesn’t cost an arm and a leg” think about the service we provide - not just the punch list that is included on a website about timeline creation and vendor coordination. The unseen tasks we take on to alleviate your burden, and help you have a beautiful, joy filled day with not a care in the world. The way it should be.
