Hello! My name is Jessica Watson. I have been doing events, at least one a year, for over 14 years now. I have had events that were a bust and some that were pretty amazing! Thank God for all my vendors and customers for believing in me over all these years.
I sent out a Feedback form this year, was told its something I should do, so I did it. I knew it was not going to be great, because this year was a rough year. I was not in the best place, I had to move location, and that just messed me up. I loved the warehouse because I was able to give every vendor a 10x10 booth, which was something I wasn't able to do at the fairgrounds. There was someone from the warehouse there helping me all day, and she was amazing help!
The signs out front were homemade signs, let me tell you why...I have bought signs, soooo many signs, yard signs, banners and more. People read homemade signs first! Monroe county has new yard sign laws and have targeted me! Idk why but they have, so when I get signs out, they are normally taken down. I didn't want to chance it this year. Going forward I will be asking people if I can put signs in your yards! :) Also, I need to add that this obviously was not the only advertising I had, I hope you all know that. We had over 3k interested on here. My family and I did 3 parades and passed out over 1000 fliers. My friend and I did 2 trunk or treats and passed out over $500 in candy & over 1k fliers. I do a lot more behind the scenes than I think some of you realize I do. This was also posted on radio stations online pages. Not to mention I think I have a pretty amazing following of customers, and my vendors have created relationships with these customers that keep them coming back.
The parking was crazy, people have their ways and do not listen. I understand now there definitely should have been staggard times for unloading. I didn't think about this before because there was 2 other places to load and unload just no one really wanted to walk far, and I understand. If all of the vendors would have parked in the areas I asked you to, it would have made more parking for the customers! If I do have another one at the warehouse, I will not have outside trailers, they took too much parking away from customers, and I will have a shuttle for customers.
I am working on a new location! Once I hear back I will let everyone know what I plan on doing. I really like the warehouse, it is just so big with a ton of walking.
It's so crazy to hear from some people that they did amazing and it was their best show, and then to hear from some that it was their worst show. IDK and I'm sorry. I wish I could make everyone happy all the time, and I have worked so hard to do this. I was just off my game this year with some things and I apologize.
