What a wonderful time spent at Universal Ballet Competition in Boston! Such a well run event.
So many memorable moments for our students from class to stage to new friendships made and more. I had a teacher approach me on open stage and ask if we were the school from Maryland… she went on to tell me how impressed she was with our students on stage but also more important, in the dressing rooms. She saw how nice and respectful they were to everyone and also so nice to each other.
This is the best compliment to receive!
Thank you for a great weekend!

What a special weekend at ADC/IBC!
Thank you ADC/IBC for a wonderful weekend of class, stage, and memories. MCPA dancers took the stage for the first time this season with ensemble groups and many new contemporary solos and variations. We see such progress in each and every dancer and we are all so proud. Now we keep pushing towards next goals.
Big Big Thank You to our faculty and choreographers; Mrs. Ninel Cherevko, Mr. Dima Malikov, Mrs. Maeghan McHale-Hobbs, and Isabella Torres, who were all in attendance this first go on the ADC/IBC stage to guide and encourage! This is not always possible and definitely made the weekend that much more special. Thank you parents for working through the ice and snow to get dancers where they were needed. And Mrs. Anne for some quick sewing resulting in some great costuming. Looking forward to guiding our MCPA dancers as they continue to reach new heights this season.

We are so saddened to share Maggie, Bald Ballerina, passed away on Dec 27th. We celebrate her life always as she was a wonderful example to all of bravery and grace with a never give up spirit. She brought awareness to many by combining her deep love for dance with her advocacy for breast cancer. One person can make a difference. Maggie’s work and memory will continue to make a difference. Maggie was a student of Ms. Shannon’s many years ago and our dancers have been participants in her fund raising galas. Please consider making a donation in Maggie’s memory.
Rest peacefully surrounded with much love courageous Maggie đź’•

From Maggie's instagram:
On December 27, 2024, Maggie passed away peacefully at home with her family. Maggie was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in 2014 when she was only 23.
Since then, she lived her life to the fullest. She continued to dance, teach, choreograph, and perform in addition to her grueling schedule of medical appointments. Despite not liking to speak publicly, she took on educating young dancers and the public that no one is too young, no one is too fit, no one is immune from cancer. As the Bald Ballerina, she showed all of us how to live and thrive despite the odds with grace, positivity, and tenacity. She touched many lives and will be missed by all who were lucky to know her. We want to thank everyone who supported her through this journey, sent gifts, cards, and messages. Maggie was very touched and grateful, but was too ill to personally thank everyone. We hope you continue to spread her story of strength and grace.
Maggie's greatest passions were breast cancer advocacy for The Pink Agenda (TPA) and working with her Pomeranians at Dog Owner's Training Club of Maryland (DOTC). She served on the board of both organizations and was the AKC Delegate for DOTC. You can make a tax deductible donation to either organization in Maggie's memory. For DOTC, please make the check payable to DOTC, write Maggie on the "For" line and mail to DOTC, 1801 Gwynn Oak Ave, Baltimore MD 21207.

Congratulations MCPA Dancers and Faculty!
Nutcracker 2024 was a huge success and we could not be more proud. The amount of growth and progress made by every dancer was visible on the Nutcracker stage. Hours of dedication thru class and rehearsals led by our incredible faculty culminating in an unforgettable Nutcracker 2024. The moments had of backstage fun and MCPA spirit along the way…so special for our dancers creating an experience they will never forget.
Big thank you to our guest performers, alumni participants, and faculty performers! Your presence made this performance all so much more memorable both on stage and off. MCPA family. ♥️ Also a big thank you to all parents that volunteered so generously to pull this off; from fund raising, to sales, to tech, backstage moms, seamstress work, to load in and load out, and so many more things….This type of school support and generosity is what makes this possible and is greatly appreciated!
Once more, let’s cheer on our MCPA Dancers! 👏The future is bright!
Enjoy the holidays and we will see you in 2025!!!
