Cator Woolford Gardens is a beautiful wedding & event space, with all proceeds supporting the Frazer Center’s mission of fostering inclusive communities for people with disabilities. The Gardens, originally created for Cator Woolford, one of the principle founders of Retail Credit Company (now Equifax, Inc.), were redesigned in 1996 as a series of outdoor “rooms," and were updated again in 2017 by

artist/gardener/designer Cooper Sanchez. Your guests will easily imagine themselves in a time gone by in this unique Southern oasis so convenient to the heart of the city. The Italian-styled pavilion accompanied by an elegant 30’ x 45’ white tent creates a truly enchanting and unique setting for any event – corporate retreat, conference, fundraiser, movie shoot, or wedding. In addition, with a 3,000 square foot indoor space featuring vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling windows as part of the gardens rental, only your imagination limits the type of event the gardens can accommodate. While a source of enjoyment for the community, the Gardens are an important source of revenue for the Frazer Center, a non-profit organization. For almost seventy years, the Frazer Center has provided exceptional services to infants, toddlers, preschoolers and adults with developmental disabilities such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, Down syndrome, sickle cell anemia, autism spectrum disorders, and other genetic disorders.

That plant reaching up into the sky? That's our Lady Banks rose.

She's been winding around these columns for decades. After the freeze in 2022, we thought she might never return. Head Gardener Cooper Sanchez loved the old trunk so much that he planned to use it as a trellis for a new vine.

Instead, Lady Banks had other plans.

After a couple of quiet years, she came back stronger than ever. We can't wait to see her covered in blooms again next spring.

Late summer brings a different kind of beauty to the gardens.

Our crew keeps tending through the hottest months, and the butterflies and bees keep doing their part. Together, they keep everything growing. They’re all as busy as Frazer Center teachers getting ready for today—the first day of school.

Every event and photo shoot here helps support Frazer’s inclusion programs, where children of all abilities learn, grow, and flourish together.

Thanks to everyone who plays a role in supporting inclusive communities.

Many of you know the house at the top of the meadow. Some of you have walked the paths, attended a gathering, or spent time in the Gardens.

For Cator Sparks, that connection goes back much further.

As the great-grandson of Cator Woolford, he grew up visiting this property with his grandmother, hearing stories about the house, the gardens, and the man he was named for.

This summer, Cator joins the Frazer Center Board of Directors, bringing both a personal history and a deep commitment to community.

“This place has always been special to me,” he says. “Now I get to be part of what comes next.”
