🚧 Pedestrian Detour Notice 🚧

Friendly reminder that the East End stairs of the Cumberland Bridge are currently closed due to construction. A security fence is in place, and there is no public access to the sidewalk leading from the stairwell to the Battery Bridge. All pedestrian traffic should use Galleria Parkway as the primary detour route.

We expect to reopen July 2026. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during our expansion project.

Meet the Team: Allia Dye

Elevating every plate and raising the bar for large-scale hospitality is our Banquet Event Manager, Allia Dye. From high-profile galas to massive corporate luncheons, her meticulous eye and flawless ex*****on sets the standard for our team. We caught up with her for a quick Q&A session.

Q. What advice would you give someone just starting their career in your field?
A. I would tell someone starting in my field to be open-minded and flexible. Ask as many questions as possible and always be willing to learn and do things that aren't in your "job description." Establish a relationship with a mentor who can also show you the industry from a different perspective and help you grow.

Q. What do you enjoy the most about your role at the venue?
A. What I enjoy most about my role is being able to be myself and connect with so many people from different backgrounds.

Q. What place would you recommend for first-time visitors to explore in Atlanta?
A. I would recommend going down to Ponce City Market and visiting the Beltline.

As business needs evolve, the venues hosting them must evolve too. When venues renovate, the old and new spaces often feel disjointed. But for our project, the team is making sure the transition is entirely seamless. We are blending a sophisticated, nature-inspired theme with top-tier technology throughout the entire venue. From our new grab-and-go market to a beautiful outdoor event courtyard, this expansion introduces top-tier amenities at every turn.

The Cobb Convention Center is in a season of exciting growth and our Sales and Marketing team is looking straight ahead to 2027 and beyond. Leading that charge is our Director of Sales and Marketing, Dale Gustafson. Dale’s strategic vision is a massive part of how we are bridging the gap between today’s blueprints and tomorrow’s world-class events. We caught up with him for a quick Q&A session.

Q. What do you enjoy the most about your role at the venue?
A. Making a daily difference in co-workers and customers lives.

Q. What advice would you give someone just starting their career in your field?
A. Focus on people, build relationships, and never burn bridges.

Q. What place would you recommend for first-time visitors to explore in Atlanta?
A. Exploring Atlanta’s intown neighborhoods and parks and their history.

Q. What’s the most important skill for someone in your position to master?
A. Listening to understand – i.e., Use your ears and mouth proportionately when communicating.

Q. What's a fun fact about you that may surprise people?
A. I was a cast member in the 1996 Olympic Opening and Closing ceremonies

Our team is celebrating by sporting jerseys from around the world and getting into the spirit of the cup. We are excited to be a host city of the FIFA World Cup and can't wait to showcase to the world what Atlanta has to offer!

First impressions matter, and we are hard at work making ours unforgettable! Our beautification entrance is underway. We are transforming our front entrance into a stunning, welcoming gateway worthy of our world-class events.

For your safety, our front entrance sidewalk and the stairwell to the Cumberland Mall bridge are temporarily closed. All pedestrian traffic should use Galleria Parkway as the primary detour route to access the Battery ATL Bridge. We expect to reopen by early July 2026. We appreciate the community's patience and support while we make these exciting upgrades.

STAIRWELL AND SIDEWALK CLOSURE

Please be advised that starting June 8, the East End stairs of the Cumberland Bridge will be temporarily closed due to construction. There will be no public access to the sidewalk that leads from the stairwell towards the entrance of the Convention Center. A security fence will be placed to secure the work zone. Despite the stairwell closure, the bridge elevator will remain fully operational. All pedestrian traffic should use Galleria Parkway as the primary detour route. We expect to reopen early July 2026.
