• Artists receive a list of participating businesses and paint your location during the Plein Air Festival, September 2-11�

Calling All Local Artists! 🎨
Registration for our upcoming Plein Air Festival is still open, and we’re welcoming new artists every day! The festival is right around the corner, and we’re excited to share that cash prizes will be awarded this year:

🏆 First Place – $300
🥈 Second Place – $200
🥉 Third Place – $100
🌽 Farmer’s Market Challenge – $75 (chosen by the people of the market!)

Winners will be announced during our Opening Reception on Friday, September 12th at 7:00 PM. We can’t wait to see the creativity and talent that comes to life in !

We’re looking for sponsors to support our Plein Air Festival artists this year. By making a donation, you’ll have the chance to purchase a unique painting of YOUR business created by one of our talented plein air artists!

We’ll have everything ready for you to get started: jars, tools, and our homemade brine. All you need to bring are the vegetables you’d like to pickle (BYOV: Bring Your Own Veggies). From classic cucumbers to fun new combinations, it’s the perfect chance to try something new.

We’re thrilled to announce our 3rd Annual Plein Air Festival in Arlington Heights! Plein Air, which means “open air” in French, is all about creating art outdoors, directly from life. This year, we’re adding exciting new events, including a Farmers Market Challenge and a social paint & sip night! 🎨

Artists can register to paint scenes around between Sept 2–11 and submit up to 3 ready-to-hang works on the morning of the 11th. All pieces must be stamped at The Empty Corner on September 2. Pieces will be part of a juried exhibition at The Empty Corner, and available for the public to view between Sept 12–21.

Winners will be announced at the Opening Reception on Friday, Sept 12 at 7PM, including the People’s Choice from the Farmers Market Challenge!

• Farmer’s Market Paint-Off : Sept 6 | 8am–10:30am

We will be learning how to take care of a sourdough starter, weigh and mix ingredients, folding a loaf of dough, and tips for baking a beautiful loaf at home! You’ll leave with your own jar of starter, a printed recipe, and a fully prepped loaf ready to bake. Let’s get kneading!

We are honored to present Blooming Bottles by Burlini—a heartfelt tribute in memory of Jennifer Burlini DeVine, created by her father, artist and renowned sculptor Joe Burlini. Jennifer’s strength, light, and laughter continue to inspire all who knew her.

Join us for a silent auction during our Opening Reception on Sunday, July 27th, featuring an original sculpture by Joe Burlini. The event will begin at 3:00 PM and be open to the public until 6:00 PM.

Joe has lovingly hand-painted a collection of wine bottles, available with a donation of $20 or more. All proceeds will benefit pancreatic cancer research, with a focus on early detection and finding a cure.
•
Whether you are making a donation or simply standing with us in spirit, The Empty Corner and the Burlini and Teuscher families thank you for honoring Jennifer’s memory and helping bring hope to others facing this devastating disease.
