🌚 What are we celebrating today:
Cinema landed on the Moon 67 years before we did.
On September 1st, 1902, Georges Méliès premiered Le Voyage dans la Lune (A Trip to the Moon) in Paris.
In about 14 minutes, six astronomers get fired into space from a giant cannon, land a rocket directly in the Moon’s eye, meet the Selenites and somehow make it back to Earth.
No NASA, no CGI, no AI. Just painted sets, stage magic, practical effects and an imagination roughly 67 years ahead of schedule.
Inspired in part by Jules Verne and H.G. Wells, Méliès’ film is widely regarded as the first science-fiction film, and that mildly annoyed Moon with a rocket in its eye became one of the most recognizable images in cinema history. 🌑🚀
124 years later, it still looks wonderfully weird.

This is a celebration of the uniting power of music, a regular gathering of musicians and aficionados. We’ll have a good old-fashioned jam session with some experimentation, spontaneous collaborations and plenty of good vibes.
❗️There are RULES, though. To make sure everyone gets a chance to play, sign up on the waiting list. Every participant gets a 15-minute slot on stage.
