Task 15 of the comp. 4 Seasons Butter-cat design!

The final task is here. And whilst I’m a big girl, I might just cry that’s it’s over!! 🥺

What a fun and challenging last task. Butterfly top half, cat bottom half and incorporate all of the seasons.

With a very busy long weekend of lots of face painting gigs, I didn’t have time to sketch or really plan this out much. Can you tell 😬🤦‍♀️

I started with a cherry blossom muzzle (inspired by gorgeous Spring tiger from early in the challenge) to represent Spring. Then weaved this into the Summer sea and sand under eye for Summer. For Autumn I used the same rich reds and oranges from my Spring Tiger in task one. Finishing off with silver & blue Winter wings decorated with snowflakes and edged in a fine line of Winter snow.

Would definitely have helped to plan this out in colour on an iPad or pen & paper to better with the composition & flow. But it was fun to try something completely random and different.

Again another task to push me out of my comfort zone and try something totally unique. Thanks for the best month of creativity. And thanks to all of the lovely painters who were a part of the challenge and have shared words of encouragement & support along the way. And thanks of course to everyone who has liked or commented on my designs and made me feel very loved 🥰

Task 12 of the comp. Tribal OTJ using non dominant hand for the base.

OK so I’m low key impressed with myself with my left handed one stroke base! I’ve never tried painting with my left before and adapted a very different grip than I paint with my right but it gave good support that’s for sure!

Also the gorgeous Sedona 3/4 inch also made it an ease. Swipe to see the smug results 🤣

Task 12 of the comp. Forest animal based off of another painter’s sketch. But NO green 🫠

I was lucky to get assigned the gorgeous design by (scroll to see her design concept).

Using tutorial for the fox was a dream. But not using green was a real challenge when I got to the leaves. I hope I did the sketch justice 🙏

Task 11 of the comp. Snowman in Summer with a glued on element.

This poor wee snowman took a beating in the summer sun, despite the sun hat, and lost his nose in the process 🥺🥕🫠

Didn’t quite pull this one off the way that I had hoped but that’s the joy of trying something new & taking a gamble.

It was fun to get the hot glue gun out to create the melted glued on parts.

Task 10 of the comp. Giraffe in random word selection style.

The random word that pulled for me was Stitched, as in embroidery. 🪡 🧵

Of course I couldn’t resist a little hint of gore when presented with a Stitches theme 😉🩸

I don’t often share fundraisers but this one is just incredible! At age 6 Gaige decided to grow his hair for wigs for cancer patients. At 9 years old he’s ready to cut it all off for cancer. During the time he was dedicated to growing his hair his mum also battled breast cancer. Please consider donating any amount to celebrate this amazing boy 🥰

We are incredibly proud of all our students, but next week, one student in particular, will be cutting off three years of hair growth to donate to people experiencing hair loss.

What he is doing takes courage, perseverance, and genuine compassion for others, and we think that deserves to be celebrated. 💗

Alongside this special moment, our senior students have been working hard planning and organising a fundraiser in support of the Breast Cancer Support Service Tauranga Trust. Every year our students take part in a community fundraiser as part of working towards their leadership badges, and this year’s event has been led with incredible enthusiasm, teamwork, and care for others.

Every contribution will help support the important work of the Breast Cancer Support Service Tauranga Trust.
