First and foremost we just want to say we're thinking of all of those people and businesses that were affected by the recent floods in our region.
We also want to thank all of the people and services that have been working tirelessly in the region throughout the floods and are still working hard in the aftermath.
Unfortunately we had to make the tough decision to cancel the marathon part of our event this weekend, due to substantial damage to the Tasman's Great Taste Trail stop bank and bridge. We consulted with relevant authorities on any plan B courses and unfortunately were not able to put one together.
All Marathon runners have been emailed with alternative options.
We also just want to highlight that we're a group of volunteers, of a not for profit organisation, who work hard behind the scenes to bring these events to you and any decisions have not been made lightly without exploring every avenue we could for alternatives.
So the good news is that we're still all go for the Half Marathon, 10km and team relay events and we're looking forward to seeing you on the start line.
There is still time to enter via our website and more details will be updated both on here and the website over the next few days.

**NBS Nelson Marathon 2025 - UPDATE**

The Taste Trail team are working hard to see what damage can be repaired.

As it stands, the Half Marathon and 10km courses are unaffected. We have a contingency option for the Relay and are working on contingency plans for the Marathon should they be required.

Further updates to follow when more is known. We are in regular contact with the GTT team.

🚧 Great Taste Trail Update 🚴‍♂️💨

Our trail manager and contractors are out assessing damage and working hard to get the trail back into shape. With more wet weather forecast for Thursday, we’re holding off on major resurfacing until conditions improve.

Nelson to Richmond / Richmond to Brightwater / Richmond to Lower Queen Street

Good evening everyone. As you may be aware we have had a major weather event and a state of emergency has been declared. We firstly wish everyone who has been effected by the flooding our deepest sympathy. For those of you who are wondering about the NBS Nelson Marathon 2025, we will be in communication with the council and relevant parties over the coming days regarding the event and we will contact entrants directly. Stay safe out there 🙏

Have you entered the NBS Nelson Marathon yet? Well if not what are you waiting for!!!!!
Join us on the 13th July for a great day along the Tasman's Great Taste Trail to Rabbit Island and back.
If the marathon is slightly out of your reach, then we also have the half marathon and 10km options, or grab a team of 4 and do the Waimea 25km 4-Person Relay.
As Active4Good is not for profit incorporation, money raised from the event will be going towards the Active4Good Grants Scheme to be distributed at the end of September 2025 to local Nelson and Tasman groups.

It’s race day Milnes Beatson Kaiteriteri Gold 2025! Tracks in great condition considering the rain this week. Appropriate footwear still required as there are some slippery sections.

It’s a full house at Kaiteriteri Beach this morning - leave enough time to get parked and to registration.
