Lansdowne House

Lansdowne House Weddings & functions are our specialty. A very large heritage Tudor manor house with wonderful gardens, very old trees and water features.

Lansdowne House is a three story ‘tudor’ mansion built in the style of a grand English country estate with extensive park like grounds & accommation in the main house as well as the onsite bungalow. A 1970's Villa in the grounds gives additional accommodation. The house itself boasts Rimu wood panelling, 14 chandeliers, polished floors and a host of antiques. Christmas greetings everyone! My apologies for not contacting you all over the last several weeks!! It has been a very busy time with the fabulous wedding of Kurt and Lyn in November then an onslaught of Christmas functions - dinners, lunches, accommodation and two Christmas High Teas. They were all very successful, loved by all and, as always, I extend a big 'thank you' to my very dedicated and loyal staff!

Now...Christmas Day lunch looms for the 20th year! A slightly smaller crowd this year but still many regulars - thank you one and all for your ongoing support and thank you also to Marama, Jessy, Christine and Jessy's sister Tayla who have agreed to work on Christmas Day.

To all my faithful followers, thank you everyone for your ongoing support this year and all the years gone by. Enjoy your Christmas with your family and friends and my best wishes to you all for 2026.

Thank you to all the lovely people who came to Lansdowne House yesterday for our Mothers' Day lunch. We had a guest from Seattle and another gentleman from Germany here to celebrate Mothers' Day with his mother. It was a gorgeous calm and sunny day but chilly so the fire was stoked up and everyone was warm and comfortable. We had lots of wonderful compliments about the food, the fantastic staff and the ambience which only this majestic historic building can create. It was a magical Mothers' Day enjoyed by all.

Thank you also to my fantastic team - Marama who excelled in the kitchen, Lisa who works her magic front of house as well as helping in the kitchen and Christine on the bar and making sure all the guests have everything they need...and doing lots of dishes!

The next 'Open to the public' event is the mid year Christmas lunch in June...either Sunday 15 June or Sunday 29 June...the date will be confirmed this week so WATCH THIS SPACE!!
