We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our scheduled service between Westport and Wellington has officially been extended until August 24th. We know how vital direct air links are for keeping the Westport community connected to the capital which is why our twice-weekly flights will continue to operate every Monday and Friday. This extension is made possible thanks to a temporary support from Development West Coast (DWC) to maintain network continuity while longer-term government funding options are being actively considered. While this support gives us fantastic certainty for the winter, it is a short-term measure. For essential regional routes like this to remain viable in the long term, they rely heavily on consistent backing and active use from the community. A massive thank you to DWC, and all our incredible passengers for your ongoing support 💛

🌟 Celebrating Our Courageous Kiwis 🌟

A huge shoutout to our brave personnel—those who run toward danger when others flee. This year, the prestigious Te Kiwi Maia (The Courageous Kiwi) Trophy will be awarded to the overall winning Service at the 2026 championships!

This remarkable cup was first presented at the NZ Armed Forces & Emergency Services Bodybuilding Championships in 2021, and again in 2022. It carries special meaning for the NZ Army: their 2021 overall win was dedicated to SGT Salale of 1RNZIR, who sadly lost his battle with cancer just days before the competition. In 2022, the RNZAF took home the trophy—and now, with the event returning in 2026 and hosted by INBA NZ, we’re all excited to see which Service will claim it this time! 🏆

The trophy is proudly displayed at The Foundry Gym & Fitness Centre in Bulls, the permanent new home of the NZ Armed Forces & Emergency Services Bodybuilding Association.
