🎊 This month we're officially nine years young!

Check out these snaps from our build phase led by Leighs Construction, Wilkie+Bruce Architects, Ruamoko Solutions and Marshall Day Acoustics.

✨Rising from post-quake Ōtautahi in August 2016 we opened our doors with the vision of being an inspirational music and arts facility for communities, professionals, young people and audiences from all walks of life.

Through dedication, tenacity and vision our founding Director Bronwyn Bijl, family and founding Trustees; staff; sponsors and supporters; contractors; generous volunteers and the City of Christchurch brought to life your centre for music and the arts — The Piano!

🤲 Ngā mihi nui, a huge thank you to the exceptional individuals, Trusts and Foundations, businesses, partners and Christchurch City Council who enabled our build and chattels back in 2016.

👉 We couldn't have done this without our fabulous whānau of supporters: https://thepiano.nz/our-supporters/

Today we host over 600 events annually, and welcome over 125,000 people through our doors every year. From music to kōrero, theatre and dance, comedy to film, conferences and events.

💛 Thank you to our team, clients, artists in residence, performers and creatives, and audiences for coming on this journey with us. You make The Piano the vibrant destination that it is for Christchurch, Canterbury and Aotearoa. Mauri ora!
