COMING UP // JUNE 17! ⚡️ BLEND (ELECTRO-ACOUSTIC JAM NIGHT) A space and a recurring event for musicians and live electronic music practitioners to connect, experiment, and enjoy music in a safe, curated jam setting with a full professional sound system. The event is also open to the public, whether you want to perform, prefer to listen, or are simply curious to discover the experience.

🥁 JOIN THE JAM: thebuttonfactory.co.nz/events/blend

No specific genres or musical forms are expected — Blend is an open space for all kinds of musical creativity and curiosity, shaped by collective experimentation.
The event runs for 4 hours and is structured in 30-minute sequences, with up to 6 musicians on stage at a time. Every 30 minutes, part of the lineup rotates to keep the energy flowing and the performances dynamic. Each musician will have a total of 1.5 hours of stage time, with a roster in place to coordinate the flow.
Participants are asked to bring one instrument and all necessary equipment, including cables, stands if needed, and MIDI cables if synchronization is required.
Each participant will be asked to complete the form below during registration to provide information about themselves and their setup, so we can curate the event carefully and ensure everything runs smoothly.

🟡 THE BUTTON CO-OP IS GROWING 🌱 INTRODUCING HANNA EASTVOLD-EDWINS ⭐️ One of the most exciting parts of expanding into the full building has been watching new people, projects, and possibilities begin to weave themselves into the space.

We’re excited to welcome Hanna Eastvold and Popcorn Collective into the growing creative ecosystem.

Hanna has spent years working in the climate innovation and startup space, helping incubate regenerative ideas, environmental initiatives, and scalable sustainability projects through her agency Popcorn. Her work sits at the intersection of creativity, ecology, entrepreneurship, and systems change.

Some of the projects Hannah is currently involved in include:

🌿 Te Whare Tipu — a West Auckland greenhouse collective supporting environmental projects, founders, and regenerative community initiatives.

🌊 Sea Green — a sustainable kelp initiative exploring how regenerative ocean farming can support conservation, local economies, and underserved communities internationally.
See Project: popcorninnovators.com/projects/sea-green

💡 New funding and co-investment models helping climate-focused founders and projects navigate early-stage growth and resourcing. Learn More: popcorninnovators.com/impact

This is exactly the kind of crossover we want more of inside the Button ecosystem. Artists beside social entrepreneurs. Musicians beside environmental innovators. Big ideas beside weird experiments.

Welcome to the collective Hanna!

It's time for give some mad respect to these absolute legends behind the scenes, who have been instrumental in bringing us into this next chapter. The Button Factory is held by truly amazing humans who give selflessly to co-create the magic that happens here. People who believe in the kaupapa and see the need we are fulfilling in the Tāmaki cultural scene. We give endless thanks to your mahi, dedication and generous support! 🙏❤️

MAYA NOVA — Our grounding force culturally, spiritually and emotionally, holding us with care through thick and thin. She's been with us in our darkest moments and walked us to the other side. You can follow Maya's work here: mayanova.nz/

CHRIS SINGH — Our no-nonsense advocate, kept us sharp and protected, always giving us the real deal. When it comes to law there is no one else who can give us the support we needed here.
Get in touch with Chris (best lawyer in town) — [email protected]

SERENA STEVENSON — Serena unlocked new ways for us to work together, helping us move forward when we felt stuck. Her workshops were pivotal in helping us restructure and move forward with grace. Check her out: speakstory.co/

OMRI YAHEL — Our steadfast guide from day one, helped us find our home and grow into this expansion. We are ever grateful for your skills, confidence and belief in this project. A true brother in arms. Diamond geezer! cbre.co.nz/people/omri-yahel

The Button Factory has extra room, now what? Well… maybe a late-night listening lounge.
Maybe artist studios.
Maybe a weird little micro cinema hidden behind a curtain.
Maybe workshops, shared meals, experimental performances, community radio, underground dancefloors, a rogue pottery club, or somebody building giant puppets at 2am.

Honestly, we have no idea yet. And that’s the exciting part.

With the building now expanding into two floors, we’re opening the doors wider than ever and looking for artists, organisers, musicians, makers, collectives, facilitators, teachers, dreamers, rebels, and people with beautiful strange ideas.

Got an event concept?
Need space to create?
Want to run a residency, gathering, exhibition, class, listening session, pop-up, community project, supper club, zine fair, tea ceremony, or something nobody has a name for yet?

Come visit. Walk through the space. Sit with us. Dream out loud.

The Button Factory has always grown through collaboration, wild ideas, and people backing each other into existence. This next chapter feels like a chance to build something even more alive together.

Send us a message. Knock on the roller door. Bring your half-finished ideas and chaotic sketches.

Let’s make something beautiful weird together. ❤️

🙏 Thanks to Kiera from Coco's for the reel!
