Producer, DJ and label boss, deals strictly in future music. One of the most prolific Artists in Drum with an uncompromising, club-focused approach, his sound moves fluidly through deep, experimental and dancefloor drum & bass while consistently pushing beyond conventional formulas.

With releases on V Recordings, RAM, Metalheadz and his own imprints Soul In Motion Records and Zoltar, Need For Mirrors has built a reputation as one of the most respected and forward-thinking artists in drum & bass. From his debut album Swim on Klutes’ Commercial Su***de, to Flames on Doc Scott’s 31 Recordings, and most recently Joey Tuna on Serum’s Souped Up, he continues to shape the cutting edge of modern drum & bass.

What can you expect from a Soul in Motion night? The vibe is futuristic but soulful: heavyweight rolling basslines, dubwise pressure, stripped-back tech. What sets Soul In Motion apart is the feeling of musical journey and restraint. Sets tend to evolve gradually - deep rollers, hypnotic grooves, and unexpected textures layered into long blends that pull the room into a collective flow.

Soul In Motion - AKL - Artist Spotlight: Singr

Ōtautahi’s Singr has been steadily building a reputation for deep, atmospheric Drum & Bass rooted in restraint, weight, and late-night energy.

Drawing influence from techno, hip hop, and house, his sound blends rolling grooves, crisp drums, and low-end built for proper systems.

A key part of the family, Singr’s recent work has featured heavily across their Artwerk series, culminating in the SIMX1 release — including the exclusive Mode 4. A strong statement of his sound: emotive, detailed, and built for heads-down moments on the dancefloor.

With releases on Soul In Motion, 31 Records, SBK Recordings, and Footnotes, his music has also gained support from Need For Mirrors, Lenzman, DRS, Tokyo Prose, LSB, and Doc Scott.
