I told myself I wasn't taking a "real" vacation this summer. A few days in Gothenburg, laptop always in the bag, work every morning before I let myself do anything fun, and some days between activities and dinner.

And somehow I still ended up with: beach days, Liseberg, a pool club, dinners I still think about, and delicious hotel breakfasts.

This is what being a UGC creator on your own schedule actually looks like. You don't need two empty weeks and a fully cleared inbox to have a good time, You need a laptop, wifi, and the flexibility that comes with building something of your own.

Working from a new city hits different when nobody's telling you when your lunch break is.

A year ago, I had no idea where this would take me.

I just knew I wanted to try content creation, so I started building my portfolio, pitching brands, learning as I went and figuring things out one step at a time.

One year later, I’ve replaced my old salary, and I’m officially doing this full-time🥹

Still a little surreal.

Taking the first step was scary. But I’m so glad I did.

If you’re thinking about starting something new, this is your reminder that you don’t have to know where it’s going. You just have to start🤍

The side of being a content creator and building a small business that doesn’t usually make it to Instagram🫠

Not every pitch gets a reply.
Not every day is productive.
Not every idea works.
And sometimes the self-doubt gets pretty loud.

I’m learning that building a UGC career and creative business isn’t about having everything figured out. It’s about continuing anyway, even when things don’t go according to plan.

So here’s your reminder that social media is a highlight reel. You never really know what’s happening behind someone else’s screen.

Content creator life isn’t always glamorous. But I’m still very happy I chose this path. 🤍

I don't talk about this much.
I come from a creative family, everyone makes something, builds something.
My mom was a graphic designer. We had a complicated relationship, and I still miss her every single day.

Doing creative work is the thing that makes me feel closest to her.
I hope, wherever she is, she'd be proud that I'm chasing this and building something that's mine💛

If you've lost someone and still feel them in the things you make, I see you.

Ever filmed something that looked amazing in your head and totally flat on camera? Same.

The magic isn’t the clip, it’s what happens after. This is the same footage before and after editing, and editing is honestly my favorite part of being a UGC creator.

The raw stuff is never the final stuff 🎬
