Holly A. Griffin is an American movement artist currently based in Milan, Italy. She began her formal dance training at Tyler Junior College under the direction of Thereza Bryce-Cotes. From there she studied across genres at various venues such as Steps on Broadway in New York City, Bruce Woods Dance Company in Dallas, Texas, Bates Dance Festival in Portland, Maine, and The Louisville Ballet in Louisville, Kentucky. Holly received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance Studies from Texas Woman’s University, where she received awards for both outstanding dance performance and her community work there. In her final year at Texas Woman’s University, she choreographed, produced, and performed in her own show, under the guidance of Dr. Adesola Akinleye. During and after university, she was involved in serval independent performance art projects, expanding her knowledge of theatre, the body, and delving into the world of duration performance and sight-specific performance. After graduating, she joined Beckles Dancing Company based in Dallas, TX under the direction of Loris Anthony Beckles, focusing on Lester Horton/Alvin Ailey modern dance inspired works. Most recently she has been a member of the FLYOUT Junior Company at VIVO Center in Rome, Italy, where she worked with several international guest choreographers on contemporary dance theatre projects and has performed these works in theaters across Rome. Additionally her piece, “Fear is the Heart of Love”, created for the FLYOUT company, premiered in Rome in May 2025.
