The end of an incredible chapter. The beginning of an exciting new one!

Four years at Skirlington Market, and what a journey it’s been!

From arriving in our little Astra van with a handful of bakes, to the incredible support we’ve received every single Sunday.

To every customer, fellow trader and friend we’ve made along the way, thank you. You’ve helped make Totally Caked what it is today, and we’ll never forget that.

But we’re not slowing down!

Our next chapter is all about Beverley Market!

Almost 70 different bakes, incredible quality, generous portions and fantastic value. And with a whole new range of creations already in the works, there’s so much more to come!

We want Totally Caked to be one of the reasons you visit Beverley on a Saturday.

BEVERLEY, YOU’VE DONE IT AGAIN!

A massive thank you to everyone who came to see us early doors this morning!

We honestly can’t begin to tell you how grateful we are!

I know I say it every single week, but when you spend days producing the sheer amount of bakes that we do, only to be faced with the threat of some seriously disruptive weather, the anxiety is very real!

You start questioning everything. Will people turn up? Will the weather hold off? Are we going to end up packing away everything we’ve worked so hard to produce?

But then you lot turn up, and remind us exactly why we do what we do!

I’ve said this countless times, and I stand by it 100%.

WE HAVE THE BEST CUSTOMERS ANY SMALL BUSINESS COULD EVER WISH FOR!

Tomorrow we go again at Skirlington Market, with even more doom and gloom on the weather front! Let’s just hope those winds stay away long enough for us to do what we do best!

The Daily Rundown

Good morning everyone! Hope you’re all doing well this morning.

So, The Daily Rundown might just become a regular thing!

Most mornings, Laura and I sit down with a coffee and chat about the day ahead. What we’ve got planned, what’s on our minds and everything in between.

I thought, why not start sharing some of those morning discussions with you?

This morning, the conversation was all about the weekend markets and getting everything ready for another busy couple of days!

THE BROOKIE IS BACK!

Well, sort of…

Note to self. NEVER bake a Brookie in a long rectangular tin again!

We’ve somehow managed to create a VROOKIE!

It might not have turned out quite how we imagined, but believe me when I say this is going to taste absolutely UNBELIEVABLE!

We used to make these all the time, and they were hands down one of my absolute favourite bakes we’ve ever done!

A thick cookie dough base, a layer of Oreo, topped with a rich chocolate brownie. What’s not to love?!

It might look a little different this time around, but one thing’s for sure. The Brookie deserves a comeback!

Who remember’s when we used to make these? If you do tell me the other flavour we used to do??

Some goodbyes are harder than you ever imagined.

This Sunday, we’ll reverse our van down Petticoat Lane for the very last time.

And even writing those words brings a lump to our throats.

For 40 years, Skirlington Market has been so much more than somewhere to shop. It’s been a place where friendships have been made, families have grown up visiting, businesses have found their feet and thousands of memories have been created.

For us, it’s where Totally Caked became so much more than a dream.

We arrived hoping to sell a few cakes. We never imagined we’d find a second home, surrounded by people who would become such a big part of our lives.

The traders who feel like family. The familiar faces every Sunday morning. The customers who’ve supported us, laughed with us and watched our little business grow.

How do you say goodbye to something that’s meant so much?

We fought to keep this place, and although that wasn’t to be, we’re incredibly grateful we got to be part of its story.

The good news is that Skirlington Market has a future across the road. But this Sunday marks the end of an incredible 40 years on the original site.

And we want to give it the send off it deserves.

This Sunday, 25th October, is the final Skirlington Market on its original site, and it’s going out with a Halloween Special.

Please come. Bring your family, bring your friends, support the traders and help us fill those familiar lanes with people one final time.

Not just for Totally Caked, but for every trader, every person who’s worked behind the scenes and everyone who’s poured their heart into making this market what it is.

Let’s make this Sunday a day none of us will ever forget.

Because one day, we’ll look back and wish we could experience just one more Sunday on Petticoat Lane.

This Sunday, we still can.

A SPONTANEOUS DAY OFF!

A rare day off, so we decided to head out for a lovely lunch at Olivia’s Tea Room, and this time we brought my mum and dad along too!

If you’re looking for somewhere a little out of the way, away from all the hustle and bustle, where you can sit down, relax and enjoy some seriously GOOD food, then Olivia’s is somewhere you NEED to visit!

They’ve got a fantastic menu, including afternoon tea, plenty of delicious lunch options and some of the BEST BAKES IN YORKSHIRE!

Although we might be a little biased on that last one, seeing as Totally Caked supplies their cakes!

But seriously, we’ve been coming here regularly for a while now, and there’s a reason we keep going back.

The staff are AWESOME, the food is exceptional and it’s just such a lovely place to spend a couple of hours.

There’s onsite parking too, which makes visiting even easier!

It’s always a pleasure seeing our bakes on the counter, but today was simply about enjoying some fantastic food and spending a bit of quality time with family.

If you’ve never visited Olivia’s Tea Room, we genuinely couldn’t recommend it enough!
