HIGHLY ANTICIPATED WEEKDAY SESSIONS! 🐴

We’re excited to introduce our new sessions at Happy Hooves Ponies, designed to give children the opportunity to learn, build confidence and develop a connection with ponies in a calm, hands-on environment.

Sessions will be tailored to individual needs, with options for education-based learning, therapy-based activities or a combination of both. All sessions are non-riding and focus on pony care and learning about the world in which they live.

📚 Tuesday Home Ed Pony Club

A small group session for home-educated children aged 6–10 years.

🕤 9.30am–11am
🐴 Learning everything about pony care, welfare and management
📖 A mix of practical, hands-on activities and classroom learning
👥 Small, carefully selected group to create the best environment for everyone
👋 Drop-off session – parents can leave and return at the end

Term 1 dates:
27th October, 3rd November, 17th November, 1st December, 8th December & 15th December.

💷 £210 per child for the full term.

Places will be allocated based on creating the most cohesive group, ensuring the children can learn and benefit from the sessions together.

💚 Thursday 1-1 Home Ed / SEN Sessions

Individual sessions tailored entirely to your child.

These sessions can be education-based, therapy-focused or a combination of both, depending on your child's interests, needs and goals.

Activities may include:
🐴 Grooming and building a bond with ponies
🦄 Learning how to lead and handle ponies
🌿 Learning about pony care, welfare and their surroundings
🪣 Practical, hands-on pony care
📚 Educational activities adapted to your child
💚 Opportunities to develop confidence, independence and new skills at their own pace

🕤 Available times:
• 9.30am–10.30am
• 10.45am–11.45am

Suitable for children aged 6–10 years.

Term 1 dates:
29th October, 5th November, 12th November, 19th November, 3rd December & 10th December.

💷 £270 per child for the full term.

A parent or carer must stay for the duration of these sessions.

✨ No previous pony experience is needed for either option. Whether your child is pony-mad, looking to learn new skills or would benefit from a more individual approach, we want to create a positive experience that works for them.

TODDLER MORNINGS 🐴

Looking for something fun for your little one during the week?

Our relaxed toddler mornings run every Monday & Wednesday, 10am–12pm for children 18 months+.

A gentle, low-pressure introduction to ponies, with:
• Grooming and leading ponies
• Riding if they want to
• Feeding the ponies
• Arts & crafts
• Playtime
• Drinks & biscuits

No experience needed and no pressure to ride — just two hours of pony fun at your little one’s own pace.

We can also welcome home educated children up to 6 years old to these sessions! A great opportunity for two hours of hands on, outdoor learning.

£20 per child | 10am–12pm | Mondays & Wednesdays

🐴 Happy Hooves on tour 😎

Emily & Guinness, Bea & Bear, and Lila & Sooty headed off to cricklands last weekend and what a lovely few days it turned out to be. There were lots of rosettes and some fantastic results, but the best part was seeing the girls cheer each other on, celebrate each other’s successes and simply enjoy being together with their ponies.

🏆 Emily & Guinness qualified for both the VHS Championships and CHAPS Championships, finishing Reserve Champion!

🏆 Bea & Bear won their Working Hunter class out of 30 ponies — and a special well done to Bea for persevering even when Bear was being a little... cheeky! 😂

🎀 Lila & Sooty came 2nd in a huge Veteran class, along with plenty more great results and rosettes across the weekend.

But away from the show ring is where so many of our favourite moments happened. The kids played together, helped each other and got stuck into looking after the ponies — grooming, leading, mucking out and generally having the best time.

And a special mention to Lila & Kitty for being the best, most glamorous muckers-outers ever! 😂🧹💩 Watch the video in the comments to see them in action 😂

Because at Happy Hooves, it’s never really about the results. It’s about having fun together, making memories and enjoying time with the ponies ❤️

A huge thank you to all the girls for making the weekend so special, to everyone who helped with the ponies and all the behind-the-scenes jobs, and to everyone who came along, cheered us on and celebrated with us.

We’re so lucky to have such a lovely Happy Hooves family — weekends like this are exactly why we do it 🐴❤️

🐴💕 TODDLER PONY SESSIONS 💕🐴

Looking for something fun to do now the older siblings have headed off to school? 🎒✨

Our Toddler Pony Sessions run every week throughout the year, giving little ones the perfect opportunity to discover the wonderful world of ponies in a fun, relaxed environment.

📅 Mondays & Wednesdays
⏰ 10am – 12pm
👶 18 months+
💷 £20 per child

🐴 What to expect:
✨ A gentle, low-pressure introduction to ponies
✨ Meet, fuss and groom the ponies
✨ A pony ride is included
✨ Have a go at leading the ponies
✨ Plenty of crafts and playtime
✨ Build confidence around ponies at their own pace
✨ Lots of fun, exploring and making new friends

There’s no pressure to ride — although a ride is included, little ones can take things at their own pace. They can simply enjoy grooming, leading, playing and getting to know the ponies if they’re not quite ready to ride 💕

Whether your little one is already pony mad or has never been near a pony before, these sessions are a lovely way to spend a morning! 🐴💗

🎄 I can't believe I'm saying the C word in July... but it's time! 🫣🎅

🎅 Happy Hooves Ponies Christmas Grotto 2026 🎅

Our much-loved Christmas Grotto is back, and we can't wait to welcome you for another magical festive experience! ✨🎄

📅 Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th December
🕙 Sessions at 10am, 11.30am, 1pm & 2.30pm
👧 Suitable for children aged 2-7 years

Each session lasts 1 hour with a maximum of 6 children, giving every child plenty of time to enjoy the magic.

Your child will:
🐴 Enjoy a pony ride
🎄 Complete a Christmas-themed obstacle course with goodies from the North Pole
✨ Make festive decorations to take home
💌 Write a letter to Santa
🎅 Meet Santa himself, who will arrive with a sack full of quality presents for every child

Each child will also receive a chocolate reindeer, and we'll have hot and cold drinks, Christmas biscuits and mince pies available for both children and parents included in the price.

💷 £42.50 per child (payment required at the time of booking).

A huge thank you to everyone who has been so patient and understanding with the cancellations this week due to the heat ☀️

Cancelling sessions is never a decision I take lightly, and financially, this week has been a difficult one for our little business. But the welfare of our ponies will always come first. No session and no amount of money is ever worth compromising that.

The ponies haven’t been completely putting their hooves up though! They’ve still been enjoying some lovely woodland hacks very early in the mornings, before the temperatures rise, accompanied by some brilliant little helpers, as you can see in this video.

I mentioned in a previous post just how strongly I believe in the benefits of hacking for young children, and the more experience I gain working with little riders, the stronger that belief becomes.

Children do not need to spend hours going around an arena to learn to ride — especially at the beginning of their journey.

Out hacking, children learn to feel what is happening underneath them. They begin to notice when they lose their balance, when their pony changes pace or steps over uneven ground, and they naturally learn to correct themselves without constantly being told what to do.

That ability to develop genuine feel cannot simply be taught. It comes from time in the saddle, experiencing different situations and learning to listen and respond to the pony underneath you.

They learn balance naturally over different terrain. They build confidence, independence and trust in their pony. They experience hills, bends, branches, puddles and all the unexpected little things that encourage them to think, react and become adaptable riders.

Most importantly, they relax, have fun and develop a genuine love for ponies and riding.

There is absolutely a place for arena work and structured lessons, but I truly believe that getting children out of the arena and allowing them to learn through real experiences is one of the best foundations we can give them.

Happy ponies. Happy children. Confident, thoughtful little riders. Oh, and best friends for life being made!

⚠️ Wednesday Toddler Session Cancelled ⚠️

Due to the Red Weather Warning in place for Wednesday, we have made the decision to cancel this week's toddler session.

The safety and welfare of both children and our ponies will always be our number one priority, and we don't feel it would be safe to run the session in the forecast conditions.

Our ponies will enjoy a day off in their paddocks with plenty of shade and regular hose downs.

I will be in touch with everyone who is booked on tomorrow to arrange an alternative date.
