Well… we survived two weekends of LOVE Your Town and honestly, we’re still recovering. 💛😂
A MASSIVE thank you to every single person who helped make LOVE Grimsby and LOVE Cleethorpes happen. These events take a ridiculous amount of teamwork, problem solving, moving things, plugging things in, calming people down, feeding people, entertaining people and praying the weather behaves.
To our artists, performers, musicians, workshop leaders, photographers, technicians, crew, volunteers and event staff, thank you for bringing the magic, colour and energy.
Special shoutout to the artists and creatives who worked with community groups, schools, organisations and the public before and during the events to create workshops, murals, heart flags, animations, trails and interactive experiences. So much of this project was shaped directly by local people and their stories, and that made it incredibly special.
To our market traders, makers and food vendors, thank you for keeping everybody fed, caffeinated and carrying bags of lovely things home with them.
To the churches, green room venues and local businesses who hosted us, supported us, displayed heart flags and welcomed visitors through the doors, thank you for getting fully stuck in.
To everyone who nominated and voted in the Loved by Locals Red Plaques and the LOVE Your Pet competition, thank you for caring so much about your towns.
Huge thanks to the creator of the Red Plaques, the sponsors of the LOVE Your Pet dog show and the Loved by Locals exhibition boards, and all the businesses proudly displaying plaques across Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
Big love as well to the behind-the-scenes legends including the marquee teams, staging crews, traffic management, printers, toilet providers, security staff and medical teams who helped everything run smoothly and safely.
And finally, thank you to North East Lincolnshire Council for trusting us to deliver this brilliant project, alongside support from Discover North East Lincolnshire.
We laughed, problem solved, got windswept and drank far too much coffee, but together we created something really special for North East Lincolnshire. ❤️
