Most people think you need a crowd to make an impact. Big mistake.

We produced Tischli, a deliberately intimate evening at the Swiss table, for Gregory Baur at Zürich CVB and Tiffany Peter at Luzern | Lucerne, at Bourne & Hollingsworth in Clerkenwell.

A tea blending workshop with a herbalist, alpine flowers on a little table and a handwritten note waiting for each guest.

Good food. Unhurried conversation. New connections, no crowd required.

The Red Doormen of Hotel Schweizerhof Zürich are the first thing you notice: red jacket, white shirt, a red cap stitched with “Schweizerhof,” part of a uniform that’s been worn at this fifth-generation, art deco hotel since the 1930s.

One of them welcomed us on arrival. It was Antonio who saw us off and that’s what stayed with us.

He walked us across to the station himself and on the way he told us his story: how he saw that uniform once, years ago and knew straight away he wanted to work there, and how he still wears it with pride today.

He found us the right platform, loaded our luggage onto the train, settled us into our seats and waved us off as the doors closed (right on time of course, this is Switzerland after all).

Sometimes it’s the goodbye, not the welcome, that makes the lasting impression. Hospitality embedded throughout your stay.

Worth knowing if you’re planning here: Hotel Schweizerhof Zürich sits directly opposite Zürich’s main station and runs its own train concierge service. No transfers, no logistics headache, just walk across the road.
