Not at all. An electric vehicle is way less likely to break down than a petrol or diesel car as it's got fewer moving parts.

The EV maintenance costs are also a pleasant surprise for many drivers. EVs don't have parts like a gearbox, clutch, exhaust, starter, etc. that need to be repaired or replaced, like in a plain car. Even the brakes on an EV get much less wear and tear since the electric car manufacturers get to use regenerative braking.
