FEW WORDS FROM THE COACH… 📝

Saturday saw us make the short trip to Camp Hill for a pre-season friendly.
We knew this would be a strong test for us, with Camp Hill having finished 3rd in Counties 1 for the last two seasons and us just stepping up into Counties 2, we knew we’d be up against a very good side.

We played 3 x 30-minute periods, with a number of changes made going into the second 30. We made a really positive start, leading 21–5 after the first period, playing some brilliant phases of rugby and seeing a number of lads really step up.

The changes in the second 30 worked in Camp Hill’s favour, and they fought their way back into the game. Despite that, there were plenty of positives to take from the afternoon.

We’re obviously really proud of the result, and the squad has come on massively since our successful season last year. We all know that Counties 2 will be a tough challenge this season, but it’s one that we are all looking forward to.

The lads have Tuesday off to rest and recover before we get back into it, with three big sessions ahead of us to prepare for our first game against Bournville 2s.

The hard work continues. 🏉💪

THURSDAYS TRAINING SESSION WITH Ryan Bower 🏉

Thursday night’s session saw us welcome Ryan Bower to the club.

Ryan is currently the Scrum & Breakdown Coach at Hartpury and Gloucester Rugby, so it was a huge privilege to have someone of his calibre come down and work with our forwards.

The session focused on scrum technique, timing, and all things breakdown — giving the lads a fantastic opportunity to learn from someone working at the highest level of the game.

The whole squad was buzzing to have Ryan down, and it’s another string to our bow to be able to attract this level of coaching to our amazing little club.

A massive thank you to Ryan for giving up his time and sharing his knowledge with the squad. 🏉
