Mullintur Ulster Scots Improvement Committee

Mullintur Ulster Scots Improvement Committee Mullintur Ulster Scots Improvement Committee (MUSIC) is a non-profit rural/cultural development group.

Prior and since its formation in 2007, MUSIC have delivered various training events such as music tuition, IT, First Aid, Food Hygiene and Good Relations, etc to its members and their wider families of all genders and age groups. Such events were funded directly or indirectly by many governmental and funding agencies in particular the Ulster Scots and Volunteer Development Agencies. The group have

been instrumental in securing funding from the Rural Development Council under the "Maximising Community Space" programme, DAERA and Cooperation Ireland which has allowed them to tastefully undertake considerable renovations and refurbishments of their hall. These aforementioned modifications have facilitated the group to also host various social events in their hall including table quizzes, BBQs Burns suppers, dances, etc., etc., the majority of which assist in the maintenance of the legacy of Ulster Scots Culture and Heritage among both its attendant members and the wider community.

Members of Mullintur LOL 150 who recently visited the Ulster Special Constabulary (USC) museum in Loughgall.

They also presented a framed picture of the USC platoon at Mullintur to Pete Murray their tour guide for the evening .

This platoon was based in a Nissan hut to the rear of Mullintur Orange Hall and hence names therein were cross-referenced to their membership of LOL 150.

A donation was also made to the museum to aid with ongoing running costs.

A nice wee tune composed for Charles (Craig) Neville by Jimmy Livingston to thank him for his help with grant funding. Must now work on a snare drum setting.
