Over the past two years, Mid Ulster District Council has hosted three village meetings, facilitated by Cwsan MidUlster (Cookstown Western Shores Area Network) and Costa, bringing members of the community together to help develop a shared vision for a Benburb Village Plan. As a positive outcome of this process, Benburb and District Community Association has recently been reignited after around 10 years of inactivity. The group would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank the original association for the great work they carried out for the community in previous years.
A public meeting will take place on Tuesday 24th March, where the community will have the opportunity to hear more about the emerging Village Plan and to see Benburb and District Community Association’s three-year plan, which will help deliver some of the priorities identified within the Benburb Village Plan. This includes many ideas such as the Benburb Summer Festival and other seasonal community initiatives and events.
We would warmly invite all local individuals, families, groups and organisations to be part of this shared vision. The Village Plan belongs to the whole community, and Benburb and District Community Association is only one part of helping to deliver it. It is open to individuals, groups, businesses, and organisations across the wider Benburb area to get involved so that, by working together, we can help make Benburb an even better, more inclusive, and vibrant place for everyone.
