A number of coaches from across the province have recently completed the Gaelic Games F3 Youth Athletic Development Level 1 Course at Garvaghey, with Ulster GAA’s Sports Science Officer, Eoin McNicholl 🏃‍♂️

The course aims to educate coaches on the basics of Athletic Development and provide practical help to physically develop their players 🏋️‍♀️

Oilibhéar Ó Gealagáin RIP

Our Under 15 Football Player Academy squad wore black armbands yesterday as a show of respect for former Ulster GAA President, Oliver Galligan.

Later today, our good friend, Oliver, will be laid to rest following Funeral Mass in the Cathedral of Saints Patrick and Felim, Cavan, at 1pm.

Ulster GAA recently hosted its first ever BioBlitz at St Gall’s GAC, Belfast as part of the Sporting Nature Project 🌿 🐝

The event brought together club members, families, and local partners to record and learn about the wide variety of wildlife living around the grounds — from plants and pollinators to birds and insects.
A great step in connecting sport, community, and nature.

Ulster GAA President Michael Geoghegan unveiled a plaque at Buncrana GAA at the weekend to mark the 25th anniversary of the Buncrana Cup 🏆

The annual U16 inter-county Gaelic football development tournament was established to commemorate the tragedy of the 1998 Omagh bombing, in which three young Buncrana boys - Oran Doherty (aged 8 ), Seán McLaughlin (aged 11) and James Barker (aged 13) - were among the victims.

Every year, the Final is played in Buncrana as a tribute to those who lost their lives.

It is with deep sorrow and profound shock that Ulster GAA mourns the loss of our esteemed colleague and friend, former Uachtarán Comhairle Uladh, Oliver Galligan.

A life-long member of the Cavan Gaels club in county Cavan, Oliver served as 37th President of the Ulster Council from 2019-2022.

We extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Frances, his sons John and Oliver (Jnr), his daughter Elaine, and the wider Galligan family circle during this time of great loss.

We remember also his colleagues at Cavan Gaels and Cavan County Board. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
