Wonderful photography, wonderful people, wonderful wording in all of their captions, and wonderful tours.🤍

High elevations have a way of feeling a little unreal. Cooler air, drifting cloud, moss-laden branches, and birds that seem perfectly tuned to that quieter world. One of the standouts up here is the Silver-throated Tanager, a splash of colour moving through the canopy like it belongs to the mist itself.

That silvery throat paired with deep blues and greens feels especially vivid against dark cloud forest foliage. You’ll often find them travelling in mixed flocks, slipping between fruiting trees and epiphyte-covered limbs, adding flashes of colour and soft calls to an already atmospheric setting. It’s one of those species that instantly anchors a moment, high elevation, cool air, and the sense that you’re somewhere truly special.
