Less than a month before our Annual Sale. Our Annual Sale's page has been updated with FAQ and will be updated with additional information as needed. As a friendly reminder, The Costume Loft will be closed the week before the sale to prepare and two weeks after to restore order. Closure dates are: July 13th thru August 5th.

Throughout the year the Costume Loft is always open to receive donations from our ever generous community. The Costume Loft is super excited to hear that former loft manager, Deanna Milligan, will be debuting her film Lucid at this year's Fantasia Fest. Deanna left the Costume Loft last year to focus on her photography and further pursue her career as a film maker. So to see that her film is getting acknowledgement in the film festive sphere is fantastic news! The film Lucid, features a number of unique vintage pieces from the costume loft so we are looking forward to seeing them on the big screen in the future.

It's National Volunteer Week! Similar to Langham Court Theatre, The Langham Costume Loft is held together by it's volunteers. Without the efforts of dedicated volunteers, the loft wouldn't have survived the pandemic, the annual costume sale would be impossible to hold and the ever changing inventory would be a disorganized mess. The Costume Loft is extremely grateful to all of our current and past volunteers. We would like to express a huge thank you for of your hours of hard work. Without you there is no way The Costume Loft would be where it is today! Big shout out to our current volunteers - Wendy, Leslie and Clara!

This month, loft volunteer Leslie Simpson took our foam display head to her local Girl Guides for a little sprucing up. The 28th Victoria Guide Unit did a fantastic job decoupaging to give color to our otherwise plan white heads. Thanks again to Leslie and her Girl Guides.

Last year in November we had our very first Camosun College photography student participate in a preliminary partnership project. This year so far we've worked with a number of talented individuals in different stages of their photography education. And of course we are so please that Joshua decided to return and submitted this wonderful image.

This year the Loft is trying out a program with the Fine Arts department at Camosun College. This is a collaboration with the photography students in Professor Nancy Yakimoski’s classes. Her students are granted access to borrow any items in the Costume Loft in exchange for permission to post the photos they create. This type of collaboration is something the Loft has been trying to get going for sometime as we have so many vintage and delicate pieces that rarely get to see the light of day. Last month we had out first student to participate in the program. We are pleased to share Joshua Brown’s photography assignment showcasing pieces from our wonderful collection.
