We are sorry to announce due to unforeseen circumstances, the Great Pumpkin Toss on Saturday, November 2nd at Arbutus Meadows is cancelled.

We apologize for the short notice, and hope to see you next year.

🎃 Get ready to toss some pumpkins and soak in all the fall vibes! The 4th Annual Great Pumpkin Toss is right around the corner, and we’re all set for a day of hayrides and pumpkin cannons!

For admission, bring canned goods for Loaves and Fishes Food Bank or a cash donation to benefit the Nanaimo Child Development Centre. Let’s enjoy some autumn fun while giving back! Warm drinks and tasty food will be available by donation, and every bit goes towards supporting kids in our community. 🍁 Cash is recommended, though a few debit/credit options will be available. We can’t wait to see everyone there for a day of fun, food, and fall vibes!

Have you seen our signs popping up around town? From rolling with Stu Hopewell’s Alair Van Isle truck and cannon to welcoming you at the gates of Arbutus Meadows Farm, we're gearing up for NOVEMBER 2ND, 2024, from 10 AM to 2 PM! 🎃

Fun fact: these pumpkins are set to soar between 350 and 400 feet—how cool is that?! 🎉 VMACAir President Tod Gilbert says it best: ‘It’s an amazing opportunity for kids to have fun and discover what engineering, compressed air, geometry, and skilled craftsmanship can do.’ So bring your carved pumpkins and join in the excitement! 🍂✨

🎃 The 2024 Great Pumpkin Toss is back, and it's bigger, better, and more pumpkin-smashing than ever! 🎃 This isn’t just any event—it’s where fun meets tradition, and family and friends come together for an unforgettable fall day. 🍁 What started out as a small, friendly competition between local companies has now become a full-on showdown, and trust us, you don’t want to miss the action!

It all began as a way to say goodbye to Halloween jack-o-lanterns, but now it’s about so much more. Alair’s Pumpkin Slay-alair and VMAC’s Gourdon Blamsay have upped their game with air-compressor-driven cannons built to the highest standards (with some top-secret, pumpkin-blasting magic!). 💨 While the specific pressures and firing capacities are closely guarded secrets, one thing’s for sure—these machines are pumpkin-slaying legends! 🎯🍂

The best part? It’s 100% safe… unless you’re a pumpkin, of course! So gather your squad, bring your best fall spirit, and get ready to watch some serious pumpkin-launching action.

As the vibrant autumn colours transform our community, we invite local businesses to join in on the festivities! We’re on the lookout for amazing sponsors ($500 each) to host activities or set up a “pumpkin smashing station.” This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your brand, engage with the community, and create lasting memories! 🎃
