The only answer we have for your "Nooooooooo" 😱 is a calm, yet just as disappointed "Yup" 🫠

Wedding Day of Coordination takes a very specific skill set that really only come with the experience 🤷🏽‍♀️


❗️Your wedding dress strap broke?... Cool let me hid behind you during dinner to sew that sucker back together

❗️Your venue blew a fuse?... Cool lets play detective & find out what was it & quickly redesign the floor plan to find a solution for the rest of the evening

True story 🙃... the dreaded Macdonald-Cartier Highway aka 401, always giving some sort of headache. As we were getting for ceremony & the limo company was not able to send any other back up

So what did we do and what did we learn?

1. Checked in with the bride & bridesmaids, see what they were up to at that moment (they were the #2 pick up, & need to know what buffer time we're playing with now)

2. Checked in the groom & men, as they were waiting for their ride and quickly organized ubers to grab them instead

3. Organized for 1 parent to drive the bride and bridesmaids to ceremony

4. Worked it out with parents, photographers & immidiate family the rest of the days trip. Luckily photos were a walk away after ceremony & a very quick drive to the reception hall


💡If this ever happens again (knock on wood for it to never everrr) ensuring that the limo company hired has a clear "back up" plan for their clients.

🤷🏽‍♀️ what's out of our control is simply out of our control but if we can "worst case scenario" it then we can atleast have a quick solution

😍🇨🇦Downtown Toronto in the summer is be a beautiful view

But you definitely need to keep in mind these pro tips to avoid wedding day headaches:

- Stay put, avoid having to drive inbetween locations/keep locations very very close like walking distance close

- Have parking close by for your guests & provide exact parking location/ entrance to them atleast 1mth before the wedding day

- If 2 separate locations are booked, try to provide transportation for your guests, creates a smooth experience

- Ensure to share all load in/load out information to all your vendors ahead of time, atleast a 1mth before

- ALWAYS schedule in buffer times! Traffic is a b*tch!

Sorry to burst your bubble... but a Day of Coordinator shouldn't just show up on your wedding day & work off your timeline

The truth is, that inorder to create a seemless day there needs to be a thorough review of all the moving pieces & the details that you expect to happen on the day. Having an experts second set of eyes on these details will help you ensure that nothing is missed!

There needs to be conversations before the wedding week to ensure you've got some of the important points covered like:
•That your timeline makes sense
•That all possible issues are reviewed & plan "b"s are discussed
•That all the "hands on" details are assigned to someone

🎒Having all these items would be incredibly wise however... if you could only pick 4 make sure to consider what these could be possibly used for....

1. Scissors
2. Duck Tape
3. "scotch tape"
4. Zip ties
5. Superglue
6. Tide stick
7. Bandaid
8. Tums/Advil/Tylenol
9. Safety Pins
10. Wet wipes

Do any specific scenarios come automatically to mind?
A possible "hiccup" that weirdly has you worried a bit?

🙏🏽Buffer in travel time into your timeline!!!!!!

7 days to go!

The next few weeks getting into venues that are right downtown Toronto, off of lakeshore or anywhere near will be a headache for not only you but for your guests as well 🫠

If traffic on a day where there's a Jay's game or concert is already bumper to bumper ... imagine what till happen once we sprinkle soccer fans into the mix

Make sure to:
- update your wedding website so your guests are aware of potential delays & encourage them to leave earlier
- ensure to review your timeline to give enough time for travel (the more the better)
- remind your families about this!
- revisit your arrival time to the venue... maybe you make a small change to allow you to arrive earlier and get dresses there if that will help ease the travel time

✨️Your wedding timeline should flow easy... plan ahead... & always have some back options where needed!

Find a way to move forward with out it/them? 🤔

Either way... ceremony might be delayed 🙃

Definitely a detail we can not have slip through the cracks!
So planning ahead will always help ensure you are not caught off guard (too much)

❗️Okay how do we avoid this:

1. Figure out where both rings will be during the morning. Are they needed for photos?

2. Confirm who will be holding the rings into ceremony & when should they have them in their possession by

3. Ensure to give this task to your MOH & BM - they should help keep track of where they are

4. Create a "ceremony pack" with checklist. It can be as simple as a big ziploc bag with a list written on the outside. You want your vows, marriage license, rings & anything else needed

5. Ensure to do a full check for everything needed before you leave your getting ready location!

✨️If you've hired a Day of Coordinator, they shall be the ones stepping in to find the right solution- so rest at ease

❕️And if you must know our answer....
We've sent someone to grab the forgotten rings because the drive time & ceremony start time made sense. We pushed it out 15min and we made up the time during cocktail!
