The event industry in 2026-2027 is shifting away from simply producing events and toward creating high-value, personalized experiences. Attendees are becoming more selective with their time, sponsors want measurable ROI, and planners are expected to leverage technology without sacrificing authentic human connection.

I am going to be talking about these trends this week in simple formatting so that we can have healthy disussions. So hopefully you enjoy this trend series.

AI Becomes Standard
AI is no longer a novelty—it's becoming part of every phase of event planning.

Examples:

👉️ Personalized attendee agendas
👉️ Automated scheduling and registration
👉️ Speaker and session recommendations
👉️ Real-time translation

The key trend is using AI to save time while allowing planners to focus on creativity and relationship building. Of course, AI is a guidance and you must continually check what is being put out. Don't get to comfortable, always verify and check as some responses can be inaccurate or misleadinmg. Always review.

Is your business using AI in your day-to-day operations?

A recent conversation with an industry friend had me reflecting on the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in our businesses. It challenged me to think differently, and I'll admit—I have now embraced AI as a valuable tool.

Used correctly, AI can save time, spark ideas, improve efficiency, and help us work smarter.

But here's the question I've been asking myself...
Where do we draw the line?

Can AI replace experience? Can it replace relationships, creativity, empathy, or the human connection that makes our work meaningful?

I don't believe it can.

** How is AI changing your business?

** Has it become an essential tool, or do you worry we're becoming too dependent on it?

Can we talk about burnout for a minute?

I plan events for a living, which means my brain is usually running at about 147 tabs open... and at least 23 of them are asking, "Did you remember to email that person?"

People always say:

👉 Take a vacation."

👉 "Just disconnect."

👉 "Practice self-care."

I've tried.

Vacation? My brain packed its laptop and came with me.

For me, dark humor (or honestly... any kind of humor) helps. If I'm laughing, I'm coping... at least for a little while. But if I'm being honest, it doesn't actually kick burnout to the curb.

I'm still searching for the secret sauce.

So I'm curious...

What actually works for you? Not the Pinterest version or the "wellness influencer" answer. The real answer.
