Over the past two weeks, students in Grades 4–6 explored agriculture, environmental stewardship, Indigenous history, horses, healthy living, and more through hands-on learning experiences across the grounds at Spruce Meadows.

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible volunteers, facilitators, partners, and educators for helping make this year’s program such a success. 💚 Your passion and dedication created unforgettable experiences for thousands of students.

For more than 50 years, this program has inspired young minds through experiential learning — and we’re proud to continue that tradition each year.

LEGACY AWARD – FAMILY: The Southern Family

The Southern Family of Calgary, Alberta transformed a former cattle feedlot into Spruce Meadows, building what would become one of Canada’s most celebrated sport and community destinations.

The Southern Family will receive the Legacy Award on November 4th at the 70th Order of Sport Awards: Legacy Edition. Created to mark the 70th anniversary of Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame, the Legacy Awards are a commemorative honour celebrating the individuals, families, and organizations whose contributions have helped shape the very fabric of sport—and society—in Canada.
