Forbes Travel Guide has named Calgary the “buzziest Canadian food scene,” pointing to a dining landscape that has expanded well beyond the city’s longstanding steakhouse reputation. 👀🥩

👉 The guide credits Calgary’s growing culinary profile to its increasingly diverse population, locally sourced Alberta ingredients, and a mix of restaurants ranging from fine dining and contemporary Vietnamese to Italian, Korean and globally inspired concepts.

📍 Several local favourites made the list, including River Café, Rouge, CHARCUT, UNA Pizza + Wine, Major Tom, Calcutta Cricket Club, DOPO and Eight, alongside newer additions SOT and Lai Rai.

The recognition adds to a growing list of international accolades for Calgary restaurants and chefs, putting the city firmly in the conversation alongside Canada’s more established culinary destinations.

CRAFT Beer Market is adding another Calgary location later this month, with a new restaurant set to open at Shepard Flats in the city’s SE. 📍👀

👉 Founded in Calgary’s Beltline, CRAFT has grown from its original local concept into a hospitality brand with locations across Canada and in the U.S.

The Shepard Flats location will feature CRAFT’s lineup of beer, cocktails and wine alongside its food menu. Plans also include outdoor patio space and a rooftop patio designed for use throughout the year. ☀️

As part of the opening, the first 250 reservations made for Aug. 27 or later will receive a $20 CRAFT On Us Card during their visit. 🍻

A 162-year-old bottle of has been found in a shipwreck, and it might still hold the secret to a drinkable brew. 👀🍻

📍The sealed bottle was discovered inside the wreck of the Mindoro, which sank off the coast of Dover, England, in 1864 while carrying around two dozen bottles of Guinness among its cargo.

Belgian diver Stefan Panis and British diver Eddie Huzzie recovered the bottle, which is labelled “Guinness Extra Stout, London.” 🇬🇧

Researchers are now hoping its contents could reveal enough about the 19th-century stout to recreate the historic recipe.
