One of the things we love about wedding photography is how differently a photograph can feel simply by taking the colour away.

Colour preserves the warmth of the afternoon light, the tones of the flowers, the details you spent months choosing and exactly how the day looked.

Black and white strips all of that back. Your eye goes straight to the connection, the expression, the light and the moment itself. There’s something about it that just feels timeless.

And sometimes we genuinely can’t choose either.

That’s why throughout a Love Pixels wedding gallery you’ll find a mix of both. We choose black and white intentionally when we feel it adds something to the photograph, rather than converting images just for the sake of it.

Wedding tip: When choosing your photographer, don’t just look at their best Instagram photos. Ask to see a full wedding gallery. It’ll show you how they photograph the entire day across different lighting, locations and moments, and how consistently their colour and black and white images work together.

40+ degrees, a whole lot of love… and a few unexpected wedding crashers 🐎

This Glenworth Valley wedding was one for the books.

Despite the serious summer heat, these two absolutely embraced the day. Arriving in style on horseback, a beautiful outdoor ceremony surrounded by family and friends, followed by portraits amongst the greenery and one of those only at Glenworth Valley moments when a herd of horses came wandering through.

You really couldn’t have planned that backdrop if you tried.

A little wedding day advice: when something unexpected happens, embrace it. Some of our favourite photographs come from the moments nobody could have planned. Also, if your forecast is pushing 40 degrees, water, shade and a little extra breathing room in your timeline will go a long way.

Every wedding deserves its own movie.

These little postcard moments from Tara & Kabir’s day are exactly why we love creating wedding films.

A wedding passes in what feels like the blink of an eye. Months, sometimes years of planning all come down to one incredible day that’s over before you know it.

One of the best pieces of advice we can give any couple is this.

Don’t spend your day chasing the “perfect” photo. Spend it being present with the people you love. Laugh a little louder. Hold each other a little longer. Hug your grandparents. Dance with your friends.

The real magic isn’t in perfectly posed moments.
It’s in everything that happens in between.

Sometimes the wedding you didn’t plan for becomes the one you’ll never forget.

When Tara & Kabir first envisioned their wedding day, they imagined saying “I do” surrounded by nature at Centennial Park.

The weather had other plans.

Like many couples, they held onto hope right until the very last moment. But when the rain refused to clear, the decision was made to move indoors.

And honestly… just look at what happened. 🤍

Doltone House Hyde Park was transformed into something truly breathtaking. From the dramatic ceremony styling to the seamless transition into an elegant evening reception, every vendor came together to create a space that felt just as magical as the original vision.

Not every moment needs colour to make you feel something. 🤍

There’s something about black and white wedding photos that strips everything back to what matters most.

The emotion.
The connection.
The little in between moments you didn’t even realise were happening.

Jennie and Lindsey’s wedding was full of them.

From braving the Sydney heat to exchanging vows surrounded by family and friends, then celebrating the night away by the water at Orso Bayside, their day was a beautiful reminder that the best wedding moments are rarely the perfectly posed ones.

One question we get asked all the time is:

“Are black and white photos still worth it?”

Our answer is always yes.

Black and white images remove distractions and trends, allowing emotion and storytelling to take centre stage. Years from now, these images will feel just as timeless as they do today.

Our advice for couples? Don’t stress about creating perfect moments on your wedding day. Focus on being present with each other and trust your team to capture everything unfolding around you.

Lily + Jacky // Wedding Film Teaser - More To Come

Lily & Jacky’s wedding at Fitzroy Inn was one of those days we’ll never forget. Surrounded by family, friends, stunning autumn colours and their adorable corgi Kalli by their side, every moment felt so beautifully them.

Like every wedding day, not everything went exactly to plan. But sometimes the unexpected creates space for something even more meaningful. A few days later, we returned to Fitzroy Inn for a relaxed portrait session, allowing Lily & Jacky to slow down, soak it all in and create these magical moments together.

And honestly? We couldn’t imagine their story any other way.

A little advice for future couples: your wedding day doesn’t need to be perfect to be beautiful. The most meaningful memories often come from embracing the unexpected and being fully present with the people you love most.

The best wedding photos are never about perfect poses. They are about movement, connection and the moments that naturally unfold when you’re fully present with the person you love.

From walking hand in hand through the vineyards to those quiet little in between moments under the veil, this Hunter Valley wedding was filled with so much warmth, emotion and joy. The kind of day that reminds you to slow down, soak it all in and trust the process.
