Life is busy.

I’m a mother to twin boys, and I’ve moved houses more times than I care to count in recent years.

I get it.

Life is full.

But I’ve learnt that moving my body, spending time in nature, playing, and creating with community aren’t luxuries.

They’re some of the things that help me connect with myself, my family, my work, and my life in the way I want to.

That’s a big part of why PlayFest exists.

A space to reconnect with the joys that make me feel alive.

Not because I have spare time.

Because life is busy.

This year’s theme emerged from something I’ve witnessed time and time again at PlayFest: people unlocking parts of themselves, sharing something for the first time, and finding the courage to try something they once thought was beyond them.

We often treat connection as something extra.

Something we’ll make time for once work settles down.

Once we’re organised.

Once life feels less busy.

But throughout human history, gathering wasn’t a luxury.

It was part of how people learned, healed, celebrated, grieved, shared knowledge, raised families, and made sense of life together.

Perhaps the reason so many people feel stretched thin, disconnected, or isolated isn’t because they’re doing something wrong.

Perhaps it’s because we’ve drifted away from something deeply human.

We need places to gather.

We need places to play, create, laugh, learn, rest, and remember that we’re not doing life alone.

That’s part of why PlayFest exists.

And why we invite you to gather around the fire.

To share stories.

To move your body.

To spend time in nature.

Put simply, PlayFest is a space for curious souls to connect and play.

Perhaps you’ve been feeling disconnected from yourself.

Overstimulated.

Stretched thin by the pace of modern life.

Or perhaps nothing is wrong at all, and it’s simply time to slow down, reconnect with your body, and spend time amongst creative, playful, and like-hearted people.

Without overwhelm.

Only presence.

If you are drawn to movement, creativity, nature, conscious relating, embodied practice, and authentic human connection, PlayFest may be for you.

Our community is a mixture of people with years of experience and others who have never attended anything like this before.

What matters most isn’t your background, your skill level, or whether you see yourself as a dancer, artist, facilitator, practitioner, or something else entirely.

What matters is your willingness to show up with playful curiosity.

Four days to reconnect.

A chance to remember the wonder and awe that can emerge through movement, creativity, nature, and human connection.
