TIME TO MEET RODRIGO GALLARDO 🇨🇱 🌎

From the mountains of Chile to dancefloors around the world, Rodrigo Gallardo's music carries the sounds, stories and traditions of Latin America into new sonic territories.

Blending traditional Andean instruments, organic rhythms and deep electronic grooves, Rodrigo has developed a sound that crosses borders, generations and genres.

Ahead of his Western Australian debut on Friday 6 November, our friends at Mahico caught up with Rodrigo to talk about his musical roots, the power of music to connect cultures, and what we can expect on the dancefloor.

Time to introduce the second part of our favourite movers and shakers for Global Echoes × Mahico…

LAILA
Known for her Ohlala events and a musical force in our South West, Margaret River-based Laila brings Latin & Afro inspired hip shaking rhythms, organic grooves and hypnotic downtempo to the dancefloor. Born in Belgium with Moroccan roots, her love of global musical treats runs through her selections. We know we’re in for a tasty musical journey.

OKTO
Part of Global Echoes from the very first edition and a bit of a local legend, Okto has been integral to this journey. Bringing beautifuly curated downtempo and dreamy soundscapes to keep you smiling and bouncing - we're stoked to finally have him return!

AC JUNGLE
Last but not least, Ecuadorian DJ, producer and founder of Jungla events, a maestro at weaving electronic grooves, percussion and organic textures with his Latin American roots running through it 🔥

Together with Xuja (NSW), Morecca & Acid Dub Foundations they join Rodrigo Gallardo LIVE in two weeks at the Freo.Social.

Three weeks today, Rodrigo Gallardo plays Freo.Social.

One of Latin America’s leading folktronica artists, the Chilean composer and multi-instrumentalist brings Andean melodies, live vocals and deep electronic grooves to Freo. Swipe through, turn the sound up and get acquainted.

And that’s just the start.

Red Earth’s Global Echoes joins forces with Byron Bay’s Mahico Festival for our first Fremantle collaboration - a celebration of Latin American culture and community here in WA.

Two dancefloors, Latin American street food, artisan market stalls, live music and DJs. Come early, explore and make an evening of it.

This time, we’re joining forces with Byron Bay’s Mahico festival to welcome Rodrigo Gallardo (Chile) live - blending his signature Andean instruments and voice into deep electronic rhythms.

Combined with an extra sweet lineup of local legends across the indoor & outdoor floor, Latin American street food takeover and artisan markets and you've got yourself a full Freo.Social takeover that’s been a long time coming 🔥
