Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe not so good. That was the weather and the golf on Saturday for the 25 who stepped out in the Mr. Mick Cellar Door and Kitchen Par Round.
As the leaderboard shows it was a tough day on course even with the course in ripping condition.

The early bird Michael Bray got the worm and 3 bottles of Mr. Mick wine his +2 winning the day, well played Michael. In 2nd on -1 Toby Milburn who continues to feature in the placings, beaten inot 3rd on c/b was the consistent Daniel Wilson. Enjoy the Mr. Mick wine gentleman.

Round 1 of the President Cup should be finished, you have until end of June to get round 2 complete.

Junior golf is on 🔥at the Clare Golf Club with kids and young adults finding out what a great sport is.

11 eager kids enjoyed the 'Come n Try' day Sunday 24th May where they participated in a program covering the club grip, stance and swing. They hit a few balls then finished off with a putting drill.
Drive for show - Putt for dough!

Thanks to the parents for their support and encouragement of the children. There will be more 'come n try' sessions so keep an eye out.

For those more advanced kids and young adults register for the next Junior Comp on Sunday 21st June.

Hunts Fuel stableford was the comp on Saturday and 35 stepped onto a course in mighty fine condition, thank you grounds team.
Also mighty fine was Toby Milburn with 40 points just ahead of Scott Kuerschner on 39. Caroline Sandow's 37 got her a 3rd with Daniel Wilson's 36 the final place.

Veterans Golf SA held a successful State Championships at Clare Golf Club on Monday, players and spectators got to enjoy a course in great condition despite a few heavy rain events leading into the event. Not to mention the wonderful hospitality of the Clare Valley and all that it has to offer.

Thanks to Rob Tregilgas, Dave Robinson and the many volunteers who organised and ran the event.

Golf results mirrored gourmet with a few steady all day performers, the obligatory peak too early, and those that charge home but fall at the last hurdle.
Well done to the Clare Valley and all the wonderful wineries and food vendors who make this a must visit Clare weekend.

Another wonder, John 'the Great Man' continued his rich vein of form in the Claymore Wines stableford, his 37 points from 72 shots earning him 🏆from Claymore Wines. Just great Great Man.
In 🥈was Matt Butler with 36 points, stumbled home with 2 bogeys, enough to claim a countback over Peter Baker.

The course is closed to general play tomorrow as we host 140 players from all over the state for the State Veterans Golf Championship. Many of which snuck out today for a practice round.
The grounds team have had a massive week and have prepared a schmick course. Leon, Buzzy, Butts Jnr & Snr putting the finishing touches today.

A big few days of golf coming up with the Byles Plumbing & Gas Tools Down Trades ambrose on Friday a sell-out and 142 players booked in for the South Australia State Veterans Championship on Monday.

Brilliant!
