This Friday I’m welcoming Miles Jackson to the Bay FM studio for a guest DJ set on Submerged.

With a journey stretching from Brisbane’s vinyl crates in 1987 to Melbourne’s underground, festival dancefloors and gigs overseas, Miles brings decades of musical exploration to the decks. Looking forward to sharing the airwaves with him!

Miles Jackson’s journey behind the decks began in Brisbane in 1987, digging through vinyl and exploring the rhythms of world music, dub and roots. By 1990, that curiosity had drawn him into electronic music and Melbourne’s underground scene, opening a new chapter in a DJ career spanning more than three decades.

From Australian festival dancefloors at Earthcore and Rainbow Serpent to gigs in Japan and Amsterdam, Miles has taken his love of music across borders while staying connected to the underground culture that shaped him.

Now based in Byron Bay, he continues to balance regular DJ appearances with production work at Byron Bay Records. His latest focus is developing a live techno set, and live ambient set going under the name ambient renegade bringing decades of musical exploration into his own productions and performances.

With deep roots in vinyl culture and an enduring appetite for electronic music, Miles continues to explore, create and connect through sound.

Very happy to have my old mate Dj TiKle joining me for a guest set on Submerged this Friday night.

TiKle and I go way back to the early Byron days, and anyone who’s spent time on dance floors around here over the years will know he’s got seriously good taste in music. From Byron to Brisbane to Berlin and back again, he’s spent more than two decades digging deep and doing serious damage behind the decks.

I’m really looking forward to hearing what he brings! We will also do some B2B after our sets...get excited! 🤩

𝗗𝗝 𝗧𝗶𝗞𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗼:

DJ TiKle has been seducing dance floors with his electrifying and carefully curated music selection since 1998. His journey began at Byron Bay's Carpark Nightclub, where an impromptu set earned him a full-time residency. This launched a career that saw him playing at renowned festivals like Splendour in the Grass and esteemed Sydney clubs.

In Brisbane, DJ TiKle co-founded the infamous "Let's Get Minimal" nights at the Moonbar, Fortitude Valley which was an institution for underground music. He hosted various events with international DJs both on and off the Brisbane River.

A transformative move to Berlin followed, where he captivated crowds in warehouses and quirky venues. Immersed in Berlin's rich musical tapestry and vibrant underground scene, DJ TiKle's sound evolved, incorporating a fresh approach to his already dynamic moody sets. TiKle moves on the underground circuit in the hills of Byron Shire and beyond.

Known as the most danceable DJ, DJ TiKle's love for music is evident. If he's not behind the decks, he's most certainly unashamedly on the dance floor engaging with punters. With over two decades of experience, DJ TiKle continues to deliver unforgettable sets worldwide.

After taking a break from Submerged since early March, I’m very excited to be diving back in tonight!

There are a couple of changes. Submerged has a new time: 10pm-midnight, sharing the timeslot with Eric G’s Sound Streams. Also, I’ll be on every fortnight now instead of every third Friday!

And after six months away, I’ve accumulated an absolute ton of fresh music that I’ve been itching to unleash.

I'm not able to make it in to the studio tonight for my show, however I still got you covered! 🤩

I've just uploaded a recent 2 hour set and I played at The Levee Lounge and Bar to the PRP, so it will be streaming tonight on Bay FM 99.9 - Byron Bay Australia from 8-10 pm NSW time. 👌
