Guess who's sitting on eggs at Haka Bird Park? 🥚🥚

Our male emu is doing what emu dads do best – taking care of the next generation.

But here is what makes emu fathers truly extraordinary: while sitting on those eggs, he will not eat, drink, or even p**p for the next two months. He lives entirely off his body fat. By the time his chicks hatch, he will have lost up to one-third of his total weight.

And his dedication does not end there. He will stay with the chicks for up to two years, protecting them and teaching them how to survive.

We will be watching this incredible journey unfold. 🦩
