There's something special about seeing people gather around good food.

At ZITF, we watched people pause, taste, ask questions, and share conversations. What began as a food activation quickly became a space where strangers connected over flavour and familiar tastes.

This is why we do what we do. For us, food has never been just about what is served. It's about creating experiences that make people feel welcome, bring them together, and leave them with something to remember.
Whether we're around a long table, at an exhibition, or catering a private celebration, our purpose remains the same.

P.S. Our favourite part? Watching someone take that first bite, smile, and then ask, "Can I have the recipe?" We hear that more often than you might think....and it never gets old.

Some have asked why our name is Ndebele, while our tagline is Hukama........a Shona word.
The answer is simple.

Asidle was never created for one tribe. It was created for Zimbabwe.

Our name honours our roots. Our tagline reflects the relationships that bring us together. Through food, culture and shared experiences, we believe every table has room for every story.

Whether you're Ndebele, Shona, Tonga, Kalanga, Venda, Nambya, Sotho, Shangani or from anywhere else, you're welcome at our table.

From the rhythm of the drums to guests joining in the dancing, every moment reflected the spirit of Hukama and what Asidle is all about.

At the Asidle Bonfire Weekend, familiar flavours took centre stage.

From inhloko, ulimi, amangqina and slow-cooked oxtail, to grilled chicken, fresh salads and comforting sides, the evening celebrated the foods and traditions that have long brought us together.

Because at Asidle, food is never just food.

It is memory.
It is heritage.
It is connection.

And sometimes, all we need is a place to sit, share a meal and remember where we come from.

Before the bonfire was lit and dinner was served, guests were invited to explore spaces designed to evoke memory, curiosity and conversation.

With welcome snacks and refreshments in hand, they wandered through the different stations, creating memories at our photo spaces and taking a gentle walk down memory lane through a beautiful vintage collection curated by Vintage Culture Association . From old telephones and radios to newspapers and treasured pieces from another era, each item sparked stories, laughter and shared memories.

These moments of discovery created conversations long before everyone gathered around the fire.

At Asidle, we believe meaningful experiences are built in the spaces between arrival and the table.

Because connection often begins with the stories we remember and the memories we share.
