The Lunda Lubanza Ceremony of the Lunda people is held every year in August at the Mukandankunda Royal Capital in the Zambezi District.

The ceremony begins on Thursday with the installation of Sub-Chiefs, Chiefs from Angola (if any), and village headmen. Celebrations continue overnight from Friday until Saturday morning, culminating in the ceremonial appearance of the Chief on Saturday.
This year, however, the Lubanza has been brought forward to 25th July due to the national elections scheduled for August.
We shall communicate the date for the installation of the banner, which signals the beginning of the festival. Thereafter, a braai will be held on Thursday.
Let us dust off our beads and dancing shoes for this auspicious occasion!
Come and witness the rich culture of the Lunda people from Zambia, Angola, and Congo DR.

What is the slogan for this year?
To mark the end of the celebrations, football games will be held, uniting communities in both culture and sport.
