God delights in humble beginnings Job 8 vs 7. How we started BBI Bridal Boutiques!
It was in 2013 July when we came back to Zambia to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary at Precious Moments Lodge. My mother in law, Mrs Christine Blackshaw asked for my measurements and brought me a simple custom made wedding dress and it fit perfectly. It was a maternity dress and it arrived the day before our function..
The same day people started asking if we could get them custom made wedding dresses and a few weeks later the same wedding dress was hired.
This encouraged us and more orders came. We didn't think of opening up a shop because we wanted to be wholesalers but it didn't work.
We gave birth to our baby boy and time came to leave the country again.
We continued with our busy lives and while we were praying..God said, "Go back to Zambia, couples are waiting for you". It was not easy. I said why can't we do it from here? Brides were still calling from Zambia and we continued helping them through some agents.
He is a gentle God, He let's us do our own will but time came when l had to come for a visit and my husband went to France..before l even arrived in Zambia 3 brides were waiting for me.
They didn't know me but started saying that, don't go back, these dresses are nice, do you do decor, catering, car hire etc?
My husband was away but he was involved like he was here in Zambia. Some came with budgets that he had to send suits to compliment with our wedding dresses.
My husband just called to say he was coming to Zambia and a few weeks later my in laws came to visit and we were invited to a wedding were we dressed the whole line up..
From that wedding...this is were we are..we don't take this ministry for granted (Acts 5 vs. 38 - 39). Many have tried to bring us down but we trust in The Lord who said "l will bring to completion what l have started in you". (Jeremiah 1 vs. 19)
