INTRODUCING FOSTER CHEWE FOUNDATION (FCF)
FCF is a Youth led NGO helping the youth and community at large live a healthy lifestyle through sports.
We are a non-profit organisation promoting a healthy lifestyle through fitness. We work and partner with individuals from different walks of life to push this mission forward, identifying and nurturing members and community talent with the interest, ambition and ability to excel in sporting discipline. At FCF weβre a family that believes in fun be it sensitization outings, sports events, or individual training we never forget to make memories as a community.
WHAT WEβVE BEEN UP TO
Comrades Marathon
Since 2024 to date, FCF members have taken on the Comrades Marathon in South Africa, the worldβs oldest and largest ultramarathon. Each year the team makes the journey to Pietermaritzburg and Durban, with new runners chasing their first medal and veterans returning for back to back finishes.
Absa Marathon
As far back as 2022, FCF has been fielding runners at the Absa Marathon here in Lusaka, building up through early morning training sessions before race day. It has grown into one of our flagship annual events, engaging more youths in an active lifestyle every year.
Tangila Trail Series
FCF runners have also taken on the trails at the Tangila Trail Series in Mkushi, one of Zambiaβs premier trail running events.
World Water Night Run
Our own signature event, an annual night run raising awareness and funds for clean water and sanitation in underserved communities. Run for water, run for life.
Kalingalinga Borehole Project
Turning our running into real impact: momentum from the World Water Night Run is funding a borehole project in Kalingalinga, bringing safe, clean water directly to the community.
Stadium to Stadium Challenge
FCF members joined runners from the Lusaka and Ndola Fitness Squads on a 330km stadium to stadium challenge from Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola to Heroes Stadium in Lusaka raising awareness on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and helping end defilement.
Community Training Sessions
Regular group training sessions welcome runners of every level, building fitness, friendship and camaraderie as members prepare for races together.
