The newly-constructed Kabwe Intercity Bus Station has officially been commissioned by Central Province Minister Mwabashike Nkulukusa, marking a significant milestone in the district's infrastructure development.

The commissioning ceremony, held on Monday, follows an ultimatum issued in March by President Hakainde Hichilema to the Kabwe Municipal Council, demanding the expedited completion of works at the facility.

Immediately after the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Power Tools buses were among the first to operate from the new terminal, signaling the start of operations at the modern facility.

MAN ALLEGEDLY MURDERED AND DUMPED ALONG GREAT NORTH ROAD

A yet-to-be-identified male body was discovered on the Great North Road in Kantongo village, near the ongoing construction of a toll plaza in Nakonde.

According to eyewitnesses, the victim appears to have been murdered elsewhere and dumped at the scene.

Reports suggest that the deceased may have been dragged from a nearby house, with visible tracks indicating that the body was moved from the house to the road.

The exact circumstances surrounding the murder remain unclear.

Authorities have yet to confirm the identity of the victim or the motive behind the crime.

Further investigations are underway to determine the cause of death.
