π NASHVILLE HOT CHICKEN SANDWICH
π Ingredients
β’ 4 chicken breasts, butterflied
β’ 2 cups buttermilk
β’ 2 tsp hot sauce
β’ 2 cups flour
β’ 1 tsp salt
β’ 1 tsp black pepper
β’ 1 tsp garlic powder
β’ 1 tsp paprika
β’ Vegetable oil for frying
For the Nashville Sauce
β’ ΒΌ cup frying oil
β’ 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
β’ 1 tsp smoked paprika
β’ 1 tsp brown sugar
β’ Β½ tsp garlic powder
For Serving
β’ 4 brioche buns
β’ Pickle slices
β’ Coleslaw (optional)
π¨βπ³ Instructions
1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk and hot sauce for at least 4 hours.
2. Mix flour and seasonings in a bowl.
3. Remove chicken from buttermilk and dredge in seasoned flour.
4. Fry until golden brown and crispy.
5. Mix Nashville sauce ingredients together.
6. Brush or drizzle sauce generously over the fried chicken.
7. Toast the brioche buns.
8. Assemble with pickles and coleslaw. Serve immediately.
π₯ Chef's Tip
Double-dredge the chicken by dipping it back into the buttermilk and flour a second time. This creates an extra crispy crust that holds the sauce beautifully.
